June 30, 20224 yr Juventus CEO Arrivabene on Matthijs de Ligt deal with Chelsea: "It's impossible to keep players when they want to leave the club - but all the three parties in the negotiations have to be satisfied", tells Tuttosport. 🇳🇱 #CFC De Ligt and Nathan Aké, Thomas Tuchel's priorities.

June 30, 20224 yr Could be Werner, could be Pulisic or it could be Jorginho added in to the deal for MDL. I'm hearing all three are potential options provided the fee paid alongside meets Juve's minimum requirement. Reports were saying Juve will at least lower their original asking price which was ~€100m. Apparently Allegri isn't too keen on Pulisic or Werner, it's more the club wanted them. Regarding Jorginho I'm not sure, since we're looking to freshen up our forwards from the clubs point of view I would suspect Timo and Puli are their priorities to include in the deal. Especially since their valuation will be higher than Jorginho's who is older and only has a year left on his contract.

He's absolutely useless as a footballer and wouldn't get near the Juventus team. But clubs often force players on managers. In this case because of a potential marketing angle. If we can play on the Juventus board wanting to expand their advertising and commercial side and cover some of the lost revenue they expected from the Super league i think we could get them to take Pulisic and let us keep Jorginho and Timo. 40m + Pulisic is a good deal for us. 40m + Werner or Jorginho less so. But Jorginho only has a year left so we need to sort his situation out this summer and avoid another Rudiger.
June 30, 20224 yr His best position is on the right side of the defence, so this would presumably rule out Kounde if we’ve done our homework. It’s something Juve fans have noticed in comparison to his national team & Ajax period, when he’s playing on the left he’s error prone and clumsy.

Although if we got him, I’d expect him to be lined up for the ccb role long term, flanked by quicker cbs. Probs be our captain before long Edited July 1, 20224 yr by Adamrb

After all they are ready to lose Morata,Dybala,Bernandeschi and will need backup for the amazing Chiesa and the new guy Vlahovic. mr Delight won’t be willing to join Man United, we are running this show right now.
July 1, 20224 yr Really hope its the start of us moving to a back 4. Its him or Kounde plus Koulibaly for me. James De ligt Koulibaly Chilwell T.Silva, Chalobah, and Colwill to provide cover. That would be excellent imo.

Can't see Koulibaly tbh, he's nearing 32 and we have been li ked to him for the best part of a decade now. Its far too late imo. We need to think about the coming years

We would have De ligt, Colwill, and Chalobah all young players, with their careers ahead of them. This will probably be Thiago Silva's last season with us, I think having anoyher top quality experienced player to bring some clam to the defence is perfect. Rudiger is 2 years younger than Koulibaly, and im sure you wouldve loved to give him a 5 year deal, why not give Koulibaly 3, with the option of a 4th, if the transfer fee and wages are reasonable, which they appear to be, given he has 12 months left on his deal with Napoli?

Don't see it. We don't spend on over 30s anymore and I can't seeing the new regime being any different. I didn't want Rudiger staying, he had several brain fart moments in him and wasn't committed to us. He was way overrated by folk on here because he made a few bursting runs. If we get Di Ligt and Kounde we are set for a long time. That's where the effort should go

One thing that may be in Koulibaly's favour is that presumably there is already some sort of decent understanding with Mendy, given that they both turn out for Senegal regularly ? Then again I suppose the counter argument to that is we would lose both of them every time the ACoN comes round ... Colwill for LCB it is !

As I mentioned in the Ake thread, no coincidence for me that the Kounde interest cooled off and the De Ligt rumours surfaced in the aftermath. Juve fans have compared De Ligt to Harry Maguire when he’s played LCB, his supreme performances for Ajax came at RCB and his best moments for Holland & Juve. Rio Ferdinand tends to have some weak takes when a camera is on him but one thing he did get right is how football fans underestimate the differences between RCB & LCB.

Yeah I remember him saying he used to hate it when SAF switched him to LCB. Made everything awkward.
July 1, 20224 yr Bonnuci has a lot of power at Juve and if he prefers RCB then that’s that, but he’s 35 years old. So unless De Ligt has handed in a transfer request and is putting pressure on, they are making a BIG mistake but one we could hugely benefit from. This could be a sensational swoop from us, forget all these wingers we’re being linked with.. this is the big one.
July 1, 20224 yr If Tuchel could turn our defense into world champions one can only imagine what he could do with some of the most talented defenders in the world especially young ones. Apparently it's what TT has done with the likes of Rudiger that has MDL interested. £60m bid without any players included has apparently been submitted, I suspect it will be rejected and CFC will raise to £70/75m also I feel once Werner or Pulisic is added plus a similar cash value around the £60-70m mark we will have our man. Juve have already conceeded he wants to leave and they have begun looking for a replacement 👀 one to watch.
