March 18, 20233 yr He’s on massive wages and Potter has given in to it, no backbone; he was out the squad for a while (justifiably) and despite ok performances for a period, back in the team due to us not registering Badiashile for the UCL. He’s now reverted back to type and here we go again, wonder how long it will take THIS TIME for Potter to remove him.
March 18, 20233 yr Thought he was having a decent game but he should not get done for strength by the kid that came. Use your body, make him run in to you and get a foul.

The fist goal he stood there and did nothing , the second goal he showed his butter fingers Kepa being pretty sh*t doesn't stop Koulibaly also being sh*t.

This "how can you critisise A look at B" always amuses me, two separate things can be true. Regarding Koulibaly, hopefully his somewhat decent form creates a shop window for him, he's still got qualities that a team can make use of just not us/this league.

March 20, 20233 yr Just now, RIP Mourinho said: he'd shine back in the Serie A i'm sure, sadly we've stuck him on £290k a week so why would he want to leave? There's usually by hook or by crook a way unless they're beyond bad (Bakayoko) or have achieved everything they can/are capable of and have no more hunger (Drinkwater, Bogarde, Malouda). United managed to get shot of Alexis which looked totally impossible. For all of peak Kouli's qualities there's not much there in the way of silverware so hopefully he's still got the hunger to win some big one's.

He'd be willing to take a wage cut to go back if he feel's happier there, heard him mention it before in some article where he said he wasn't happy in England and would move back to italy. Things have changed now of course, but im sure the wages wouldnt be such a huge issue if he wants to move

Lukaku's was an actual interview but this was just a comment that was made in passing from what I remember, will try and find a link to the article though
April 5, 20233 yr Nothing this guy does is convincing. Actually, I take that back - he is decent on crosses when he can get his big head on it, but he is poor at the rest. Makes Kurt Zouma look like a baller when he is having the ball at his feet. So mechanical.
April 5, 20233 yr Every bit the poor signing I expected. Terribly on the ball when under no pressure, seemed to give it away countless times.

He hits the odd beautiful pinpoint crossfield ball, but is just as likely to miskick an easy pass straight to an opponent. Varies within games from looking like a capable defender and distributor to an absolute carthorse. I would never select him above Badiashile. Yesterday he matched Cucurella's howler against Villa by picking out an unmarked opponent with his head and assisting their winner.
April 9, 20233 yr Just one of the highly paid mercenaries Todd and co brought in. Only Fofana has shown desire to be here form window 1, and that may be gratitude that he is not injured.

That's not really fair though, is it ? Here's the pic of the ball coming in just before he heads it. He can't leave it or the forward behind him has a free header. He has to try and play it, and with his momentum going to the left in the frame, the ball is actually behind him when it reaches him, so playing it off to the left is the percentage play here. Not Koulibaly's fault that Cucurella has left a huge space on the left of the box, or that no other Chelsea player has picked up Nunes in a dangerous position and in acres of space on the edge of the box. Cucu tries to get back to him but then makes a very half arsed attempt at a block. The midfield (and there are three of them) is absolutely nowhere in support of the defence on that left side. All of them are grouped together on the right, which is just a horrible shape for a midfield three really. And then we have the actual goal itself which was an incredible hit from that position, That chance had an xG of 0.04.

It was an amazing strike .. no way for KK to know there was a player there.. the problem was we lost the ball upfield in transition..CC was trying to squeeze in .. if anything the midfield 3 are so narrow and where is Felix?
April 10, 20233 yr Should of just kept Colwill and saved ourselves millions. He's going to be hard to sell. But thats what happens when you have a manager who thinks short term.
April 14, 20233 yr Out for a few weeks with a tweaked hamstring from the Madrid game. So I guess the options for 2nd leg are Cucurella at LCB with three at the back, or flat back 4, with Silva on the left. Hopefully good news for Badiashile, outside of the Champions League game(s) ... 🙂

April 25, 20233 yr I've always said (not here) that he'll probably join Juventus. Serie A, one of the teams that can afford him and they badly need a CB.
April 25, 20233 yr More than happy to let him go and bring Colwill back. Saves us 290k a week and we get an upgrade. Knowing Juventus they'll want a loan deal with no obligation to buy.
