October 2, 20223 yr 3-5-2 v Salzburg - No Kouli v Palace Cucurella unavailable So we go with 4-2-2-2 - No Kouli Kouli not trusted in a back 3 or 4 so far, even with Cucu out. Whats going on with him ? I was expecting him to be a decent replacement for Rudiger, especially with the four year contract. I'm a bit concerned because he won't be the first Serie A player to come to the EPL and drop form quicker than Katie Price drops her cacks.

Silva assist apart had a game to forget and his lack of pace was exploited in this game and UCL.. I would give KK a chance over TS right now and manage his workload a little.

October 2, 20223 yr He’ll get plenty of games - a long season and bound to be injuries. Think it will take Potter 8-10 games to really learn who he trusts in a game.

That is about the time I wait before making any season predictions, really put back for obvious reasons.
October 2, 20223 yr Kouli will be great for us, no doubt about that. I think Potter is doing well by giving him time to adjust to a new league and style of play.
October 2, 20223 yr I feel sorry for whoever Potter picks to face Haaland. I don't think even Silva is going to be able to stop that machine. Would not be surprised if you scanned him you found the terminator inside.

But yes he is a specimen.. power pace precision..

It's the players that deliver the ball to him that do most of the job, if we stop most of those balls his runs won't matter much. But part from a match fit Kante it's pretty much impossible to stop De Bruyne so either way Man City is scoring one way or another. Edited October 2, 20223 yr by Gol15

November 9, 20223 yr Another player hyped up by the fans for years that turns out to be sh*t. What is it everybody see's in these players before they join Chelsea? I remember years ago saying he didn't look all that, and fans were saying he is amazing, years later and we finally get him and he's one of the laziest defenders we have ever signed. A terrible replacement for Rudiger.
November 9, 20223 yr This guy was seriously on the decline in Italy last season had some nightmare performances was a panic buy when we missed out on De Ligt
November 9, 20223 yr Exposed I'm not saying he's a fraud but way below the level we thought he was. Board dropped the ball so bad with Rudiger. How can you have a player who's the best in the world at his position in his system LCB. The coach wants him to stay, the player wants him to stay and the squad wants him to stay. Like how did we go so wrong, it's really not rocket science the moment we won ucl Rudi, Christensen should have got the contracts they deserved and the board should have backed Tuchel by keeping the players be wanted. Why are we always our own worst enemies. Its so exasperating like I can't fathom who was making decisions, but now Boehly has made some decisions that makes me think he's just as incompetent.
November 9, 20223 yr I remember people sharing that video around of him pushing that Napoli defender into position and thinking it made Koulibaly out to be some sort of boss of the defence. That video didn't make him look good, it was a sign that he doesn't have the legs to do the job himself.

I've been giving him the benefit of the doubt, he's 33, new league, everyone is in bad form, but then you look at Thiago Silva who adjusted very quickly here. I don't even think Silva's debut was as bad as people make it out to be, he made one mistake besides that he played well. You would think an experienced player wouldn't make so many individual errors, he's costing us almost every game he plays in.

Or someone who will adapt and get better ala Rudiger? Still far too early to say I think.

November 9, 20223 yr I never wanted him that much in the first place. I wanted Kounde. At least Colwill played well tonight apparently. I miss Rudiger.

Still far too early to say I think. At this stage of his career, I don't think it is too early to say. His reaction times are too slow and he gets beaten every time he comes up against any player with a bit of pace or trickery. That isn't something that will improve the longer her plays for us. If anything, those weaknesses will only get worse. The move has come way too late in his career.
