September 2, 20241 yr For some reason I see Dennis wise in him. Maybe because he looks shorter than the other kid. Runs like him too. Lol
September 15, 20241 yr Has had a brilliant start to the season in my opinion. We have conceded a lot of chances on the right and through the middle in every game so far but on the left he's had it locked down in my opinion.

He's just desperate to find one Tuchel signing that was decent! If Tuchel had signed Jackson he'd be saying he is very similar to Pele and Gerd Muller! Edited September 15, 20241 yr by just

I wasn't going to mention that his signings make up half of our 4 decent defenders you know 🤣
September 15, 20241 yr A good start to the season but needs to chill out a little. The yellow cards will cost us, and his bookings are always so petulant. It’s somewhat his jack russell style, but needs to mature.

He gives me the jitters defending but he's very waspish around the pitch and I like his commitment, always seems to be on it and weve got chilly as back up till january for his yellow card collection.

September 16, 20241 yr I still think we need an upgrade eventually. He does make good tackles and has good range of passing and link up play with the winger, but he worries m too much when being run at by the opposition. Always looks a vulnerability to me.

I hear you but he has improved tremendously and where will you find better than him. The link up play with Sancho was promising.

September 21, 20241 yr Don't think he had a particularly great game personally, but it wasn't terrible either. Because of the way he roams about he is ultra reliant on others covering for him consistently. Isolate him 1 v 1 and he is not good at that type of defending as Kudus showed again on occasions today. There will be games, against much better teams, where sticking to the left-back position and defending calmly and sensibly will be much more important than charging around in all areas of the pitch. I'm not sure he has the concentration levels or instinct for that. I do like his personality though. Someone said he is a bit Dennis Wise and I can totally see that.

Because he’s inverted the cover should always be there. I thought he was excellent today.
September 21, 20241 yr Once again showed up and starting to get consistent. He had difficulty at times with Kudus but every single LB in the league has so far and will continue to do so he’s class. But his all round play was really good linking defence to midfield and helping everything ticking over.
September 21, 20241 yr It's kind of hard to believe he's the same player that showed up from Brighton 2 years ago. But fair play to him and the club for sticking with it and now seems to be paying off. One Super Poodle, there's only on Super Poodle
September 21, 20241 yr 20 minutes ago, 19seventyone said: Because he’s inverted the cover should always be there. I thought he was excellent today. Yep. He did his role perfectly, it's not his responsibility to cover the gaps left when inverting. In terms of 1v1 when he was defending at full back, I mean the fact he ended up in so many 1v1's in the first place means failure elsewhere. Sancho in particular did little to help him.
September 21, 20241 yr He's come a long way from 20 months ago... Said it from the get-go but playing under Potter (anyone remember the 3-3-3-1?) screwed his first year or so at the club. He's back to Brighton form now and he's brilliant. Don't think there is a fullback in the league thats better at inverting than him either, plays that role perfectly.
September 21, 20241 yr He has turned it around completely. Played brilliantly for spain in euros and for us now. Long may it continue.
September 21, 20241 yr One interception early on today in the first half he went flying in with his head. It was very low and easily could have received a boot to his head. Could have been a serious injury but stayed fearless for the rest of the game. Sign me up to his cult!
