He has turned it around completely. Played brilliantly for spain in euros and for us now. Long may it continue.

Remember also how he changed things when being put back into the team at the end of last season! A big reason why we finished in a not-so-embarrassing position in the table!

Don't think he had a particularly great game personally,  but it wasn't terrible either. Because of the way he roams about he is ultra reliant on others covering for him consistently. Isolate him 1 v 1 and he is not good at that type of defending as Kudus showed again on occasions today.

There will be games, against much better teams, where sticking to the left-back position and defending calmly and sensibly will be much more important than charging around in all areas of the pitch. I'm not sure he has the concentration levels or instinct for that.

I do like his personality though. Someone said he is a bit Dennis Wise and I can totally see that.

Cucu kinda remind me of jorgi. The discussion is very similar.

What he is good at is very different to the discussion around him

All I know is, when Caicedo got kicked  in the ribs a few matches ago… there were other members of the squad just kinda looking on, like “aw man, that’s too bad”.

It was Cucu that came flying in, hands ready. He is an energizing player. He’s a guy that ties the team together because he’s so likable. He takes being a teammate seriously in a way that’s reminiscent of players from previous eras. And he is simply a better player than he often gets credit for.

He's come a long way from 20 months ago...

Said it from the get-go but playing under Potter (anyone remember the 3-3-3-1?) screwed his first year or so at the club. He's back to Brighton form now and he's brilliant. Don't think there is a fullback in the league thats better at inverting than him either, plays that role perfectly.

proof that bullying works and fans are 100% correct in booing players if they are shaming the badge with their performances. He listened and improved.

Bang on post! And yea he seems to have taken that Kovacic role of sticking up for his teammates, but I also think Fernandez has some of that in him too, or he just likes a scrap!

Or more likely a new manager came in and he played as he was told. Personally not a fan of booing our players at all.

Hard to see a way back for him after Chilwell's performance against Barrow.

Will probably be moved on in January.

Played the same back end of last season under Poch.

Great to see him playing at the level we thought he could when we signed him and it's always good to have characters in our team.

I don't think he will ever be a good defender, the question will always be does his other attributes outweigh that, and at the moment they definitely are.

He’s made for the role he’s currently playing. Looking really effective. Needs to tone down the yellow cards, but he’s a dependable player nowadays.

One more yellow and he gets a one match ban, same for Fofana. That's crazy seeing as we're only 6 games into the season!

He’s a mad man and I love it he just needs to finesse his dark arts and avoid yellow cards and we have the ultimate sh*thousery player we needed since Rudi left!!! 😂😂

Played really well yesterday and he got a standing ovation when substituted, which I was surprised to see. He’s starting to be liked around the match going fans, we’ll soon see just talk him up!!  A shame that he was offside in his goal, would have been the cherry on the top for such a chaotic match.

I always stand up and clap whenever he comes off RMH.

I went to watch some local Spanish football yesterday afternoon. Algorfa v UD Aspe. Hugely disappointed that none of the players were paying homage to a cultural icon by sporting a Cucurella Poodle-doo hairstyle.

The thing with Cucu, is that he seems to offer a bit more than just his attributes. He has a bit of a 'bite' to him, an indefinable quality that is hard to put my finger on. With some players, I wouldnt trust them to dig in and fight for us - but with Cucu, I genuinely can see him fighting for the cause - both literally and figuratively.  He argues with refs, defends his own, and is a bit of a c**tish WUM. Think the last bit is why I like him.....

Alright it was offside when he scored but he, and all his team mates, didn't know that at the time. And I was disappointed he chose not to celebrate. God knows why. The Brighton fans have given him nothing but dogs abuse ever since he left and Saturday was no different. If he was the nut job WUM we hope he is, he should have run over to their section, put his hand to his ear and thrown his hairband at them.

It amuses me that Brighton fans hate Caicedo who basically signed a new deal to allow them to get close to double what they would have got but still adore MacAllister despite insisiting on a release clause that allowed Liverpool to get him for half price.

Two seasons in and one of Bully's turkey signings has virtually come good. Reminds me a bit of David Luiz, not a really good defender but a BIG character with BIG hair which is what all dressing rooms need! If CooCoo can improve his defensive duties and add goals or assists to his all round game would be the icing on the cake.

They are desperate to force a rivalry with us. It's laughable really.

Since we took Potter, his staff and specifically Bruno, who is somewhat of a Brighton "legend", they have had it in for us.

Mind you we do keep pinching staff from them, but any player we get from them will always be a Villian.

Whereas Liverpool are loved by all the small teams.

He would definitely be faster.

I'm sure if we asked nicely our pals Ineos over at Man Utd could incorporate Mercedes' Drag Reduction System tech into a set of hair curlers. They can have Mudryk on loan for six months as payment.
