If we get a new CDM I wonder if Santos may join Gabriel's expected loan move to Strasbourg.

Would be a boost to our first sister club and allow them to develop further understanding before returning to the Bridge.

I bow to your clearly far greater knowledge than mine. Could you point out some of these numerous "tactical and technical" errors. Let's start with Carney. I'm keen to improve my understanding as I'm only an amateur spectator for the last say 55 years.

No need to bow, just wink and a nod will suffice. A suggestion if you're keen to improve your understanding - put down the foam finger and watch the game critically. Rewatch the first half, keep an eye on Carney, take note of the number of times Brighton exploited his space, being in the wrong position during build up, how many times he over and underweighted his passes. And who knows, in another 55 years you could even be classed as a novice.

Thank you for your suggestion I did watch the game, and on a nice big screen and I watched it very carefully and rather than critically I watched  analytically.  Anyhow   I thought he weighted his passes pretty darn well, better than Nunku actually and he was nearly always in the right position in the build up, that's how come he has two assists in two games. As for Brighton exploiting his space maybe that is the case, maybe not. I'd agree he could work harder in pressing and covering space.

Casedi also showed plenty when he was on, often receiving in tight spaces. The real issue was Santos, like I say I didn't see him on the ball that much but maybe he was just covering space.

My analysis of your views is that you could probably do with a loan spell but never mind.

Thought he faded a lot in h2 and santos noticeable stiffened the team once he came on.as much because he was fresh as anything else.

There's a YouTube video called " the game that convinced Mourinho to sell DeBruyne.

He is absolutely awful.

And there's the problem with judging a player on one poor game and drawing a conclusion about that player .

Lampard and Drogba's early performances didn't impress very much either. But what legends they turned out to be.

I reckon patience and support on our part is required with these young players . Anyway, COME on you BLUES!!

Be careful with attaching a gender to a football club mate, it's probably illegal 🤣🤣🤣

I have only seen highlights of the Newcastle game so can't really comment on that. But against Brighton and Wrexham it seemed to me Santos was tasked with sitting the deepest within our midfield. Not sure if that's a job he's used to doing or not, every clip I'd seen of him for Brazil had him bursting into the box.

I think he's tidy on the ball but didn't do all that much to wow me (again, that just could be the job he's been asked to do).

Cesare on the other hand has really impressed me with how direct he is, and how incisive his passing and decision making has been.

Room for improvement for both players obviously, so I guess the question is can they improve fast enough with potentially limited minutes over the course of a season, or would starting 30+ games for someone else (likely at a lower level/standard) be more beneficial to us in the long run?

I had to go to a hospital appointment on Tuesday. The nurse who gave me an ECG and took my blood pressure started by asking how I preferred to be identified!!!

I said "you can call me Julie".

Nobody has asked me that ever, I feel so marginalised

@The Rising Sun Sibling club is probably best, don't you think?

Yeah sibling might be correct . I'm trying to make a comment about how you wish to be identified Val, but every time I try it probably breaks some law 🤣🤣🤣

I'm not even sure you're allowed to describe them as a "French" football club anymore.

Most days I identify as a sloth.

Ah yes, being polite and trying to show people a very basic level of respect. Very bad indeed.

Sorry to offend Munkie, you non-binary horticultural engineer. If you submit a compensation claim we'll be happy to pay.

I’m pretty skint right now so if you deposit a couple of grand into my bank account we can forget the whole thing.

We are offended you have brought this down to a monetary level. But in the spirit of diversity recognition and reconciliation we are happy to make a donation to the Tottenham Trophies Handicapped Society, an organisation that seeks to improve the desperately trophy impoverished area around London N17.

Romelu Lukaku arrives on Monday.

If only we could make this happen, we’d be heroes.

Completely agree. And just to be clear, patience, support, and understanding does not equal blind critique. The conversation you've quoted relates to performances of Santos vs Carney+Casadei. They've all made mistakes, Humphreys made some in the last match including one for the goal. It's okay to mention these, to understand that's a part of their process, and won't necessarily define their career trajectories. Anyone drawing a conclusion after one game is a moron.
