At what point does this surpass Hulk or Modric transfer rumors?  We're getting close, and have 4 weeks to go!

We are definitely heading towards the outer fringes of the de Jong/Kounde twilight zone

Looks like the Twitter user was indeed looking for click bait, as predicted, as Brighton have briefed Skysports that their price remains unwavering because they don't want to sell:

Brighton want to sell Sanchez, deal done in less than a week.

Brighton do not want to sell Caicedo, months later still not deal.

Lesson to learn, you don't beat Tony Bloom, you pay his price or you don't.

Like I have said before, he is the English ADL.

Either We pay his price, or we don't get him, simple.

Tony 'The Lizard' Bloom [Tony Bloom calls himself The Lizard. Self-identifies as a Lizard]. Is he really such a great wheeler dealer? He's just an annoying twat if you ask me.  Maybe we should get David Icke to negotiate for us?  He can deal with the Lizard people.

Caicedo can stay there.  As we all know, as history always proves, it NEVER works out when a player is held against his will. Simple as that.

Sort of agree with that and yet experience shows it rarely is that simple. There are always angles and pressures points. For instance the uncertainty is bad for Brighton. Say we come in at the last moment, then where does the replacement come from. Never mind how caicedo actually feels about it, or the impact on team morale. I don't know what the angles are but there generally are angles in the way deals are structured. We used to say "if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck it probably is a duck" but we said that because it wasn't easy.

Apparently our next offer (I thought we made a final one already lol...) is going to be worth 90mill.

Gets him his 100m with the premium paid on Sanchez.

If they are going to do this, let's get on and get it done.

I'd even throw in Bash Humphreys for a one year NO OPTIONS loan.

Casadei or Hall might also be of interest as midfield reinforcements. And hopefully they are looking for a left back as well LOL

What absolute and utter piffle.

Bloom's just a little shyster, who calls himself The Lizard (massive cringe), runs a weird little cult on the south coast called Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club, and knows a mug when he sees one. Don't forget the master negotiator Bloom just lost Mac Allister, his 2nd best player and World Cup winning midfielder, to Liverpool for £35m.  Last season he lost their top scorer, Trossard, for £18m and Dan Burn to Newcastle for about £10m - which now looks like a huge mistake.

The constant isn't Bloom - it's our board. We've overpaid and undersold time and time again - and not just to Brighton, but to many other clubs. And we keep on doing it.

Maybe we should just pay Southampton 50m for Lavia, pissing off Liverpool in the process, and then leave our best offer for Caicedo on the table. Should Brighton then decide to play ball we could let Conor go to West Ham for similar money paid for Lavia.  A midfield of Enzo,Caicedo,Santos and Lavia appeals to me.

Not exactly the case. The 35m was the "release clause" that wasn't really a release clause. It was essentially an option to leave. The real figure hasn't been disclosed but it's said to be close to 55m. That aside, I agree with your sentiment.

You bet if we signed him they would say 55M off the bat but when liverpool sign somebody they give the lowest which is 35M

You are right lol the actual fee is closer to 55M

Chelsea will bid a total of £90m for Moises Caicedo but that is set to be rejected. (@alex_crook @talkSPORT)

Bid rejected before it even goes in. Wow Brighton are efficient lol.

Come on Brighton have made it clear from the get go. Caicedos price is 100mill. As I expected Sanchez has zip all to do with a deal for Moises.

This is exactly like Benfica and Enzo. We got Enzo by securing outside financing deal and paying his full release clause value.

Caicedo wont be joining unless we meet Brightons full price. I reckon we cave, just like with Enzo

Walk away we are mugs if we pay this as it sets a bad precedent. City would not have paid this!!

They walked away from Rice at 85mill, and Caicedo has not proved his worth as long as Rice has .

Tony Bloom has his email set with an auto filter to respond to any Chelsea bid for Caicedo.

Would not surprise me if he got us to pay 110mill and break the transfer record again.

Will get this in before Ornstein,  Fabrizio and Younes.

Breaking News!

Brighton reject Chelsea's offer of 90mill including add ons.

Brighton have rejected the offer even though it is yet to be made.

Why don't we just buy Brighton and Hove Albion and be done with. All this tinkering around for the last couple of seasons with them is doing my head in.  As long as they take Cucurella back as part of the buy out of course.

( Tongue firmly in cheek in case anyone should be daft enough to take me seriously, apart from the Cucurella bit ).  It's late and I've had a few sherberts.  😉
