It looks highly suspicious.
August 11, 20232 yr Author Liverpool not giving up. I think they want to make us pay as much as possible for the FFP issues that will give us when looking at other targets.
August 11, 20232 yr For anybody thinking its a scam... Klopp literally said in his pre match conference that caicedo was a done deal and he really wanted him etc etc.... They know lavia is the inferior player and the market is scarce for midfielders they are also as desperate as us
August 11, 20232 yr The lack of any new bid means nothing has changed. Granted, we probably wouldn't make that public, but given everything else about Moises appears to be public, I think it would have leaked by now. Porbably need Boehly and Eghbali to rise and shine in California and get things moving. My gut says he still ends up at Liverpool. It's his agent doing the talking of Chelsea vs Liverpool, and only Liverpool have an accepted offer. Think Liverpool will close some of the gaps and everyone moves forward.

August 11, 20232 yr If Cacedio has told Liverpool he doesn’t want to go there then he’ll come to us, assuming we’re willing to match Liverpools deal. Would you really want to spend over £100m on a player that has said he doesn’t want to be there? I suspect we’ll hear something soon.
August 11, 20232 yr Carragher never fails to deliver https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/moises-caicedo-jamie-carragher-liverpool-chelsea-fc-transfer-b1100119.html What a pen1s
August 11, 20232 yr Really Liverpool threw us a lifeline to walk away from this expensive, ridiculous game of kiss chase. After one good season we are prepared to pay £100 million for someone who cost Brighton how much just 2 years ago? Walk away , just walk away .
August 11, 20232 yr I think legally it's easier all round for all 3 teams if we at least match or beat Liverpool's bid or Brighton could just refuse it again. It shouldn't have gone this far, it's time to pay the money, end this saga and then parade him at The Bridge on Sunday in front of the scousers.

Mind you , with that rapid U turn he wouldn't look out of place on here 😀

He's injured though , (hamstring) 😛 Wouldn't look good paraded on a stretcher.
August 11, 20232 yr What are the bookmakers saying? I get blocked from US, but best I can find is Chelsea 1/3 and Liverpool 11/4
August 11, 20232 yr Can I just shock you? I like Caicedo, despite what I said earlier. Edited August 11, 20232 yr by timetowaste

August 11, 20232 yr At the end of the day we're all caught up in the fee. Compare some inflation adjusted numbers, and then step back and realize that as a product, football is worth a lot more today than it was 10-25 years ago, therefore prices will exceed inflation also. No one really looks back and worries about the fee if they deliver. And if they don't, well we don't tend to lose much sleep over that also. I'd love this to happen - gives us a midfield base we can really work from. No successful team has ever won much without a powerhosue midfield - look at our best teams in the Roman era, and perhaps the players we most admire (Maka, Essien, Lamps).
August 11, 20232 yr It is quite entertaining to read the emotional rollercoaster of football fans. Been glued to this thread, and wa've all been through it. I had to browse RAWK for the fun of it also, and while there are some objective fans, the majority are convinced we are Saudi backed. Anyway, where is he going?!? Never a dull moment with Chelsea. Never

It's a lot of money if the deal goes through but I think people get too hung up on the numbers. You can't tell if they are value for money before they have even kicked a ball. Let's be honest in the last few years we have equally wasted small amounts of money on duds. Like you said the midfield is the engine room and every top team looks to address it, rather than filling it with players who have just been relegated or are very young and have no experience of playing in Europe. Also we have made a lot of money this summer so far, with more outgoings expected, so going after our number 1 target is worth the gamble IMO.

August 11, 20232 yr He rejected Liverpool ? I mean that alone is worth the extra 10 million almost that we have to pay now ( I hate them so much )
