No one really looks back and worries about the fee if they deliver.  And if they don't, well we don't tend to lose much sleep over that also.

I'd love this to happen - gives us a midfield base we can really work from.  No successful team has ever won much without a powerhosue midfield - look at our best teams in the Roman era, and perhaps the players we most admire (Maka, Essien, Lamps).

 

And he's teaming up with Cucurrela, another Brighton player of the year, so hopefully a bit of chemistry between them and of course the bond of superiority that record signings will have with each other anyway.

Yes the bit that appears to have been missed in all of this is that we need to go back in quickly with the extra 2m and get Lavia sewn up. Then we can try to unravel the Caicedo deal to a position that works for all. Will be majorly fcked off if we sign Caicedo for 100m and lend them Santos though.

Gourna-Douarth being reported as Brighton's preferred replacement for Caicedo. Maybe the big brain move is to pull out of Caicedo, lump Liverpool with the £110m fee, and buy Gourna for (I'm guessing) £35m

Yes. We have a terrible record with signings from Brighton. If you review the early pages of the Cucurella thread many people on here thought that was a great signing at the time.
