For me Pat Nevin is still one of the most naturally skilful and entertaining players we have ever had at Chelsea. But if our team then had no Kerry Dixon or David Speedie, (both top notch strikers in that era), would wee Pat have been the player he was for us with no one to aim for?

We have Nkunku coming in and there has been nothing about Havertz leaving. Given the costs to keep Felix even on loan it may not have been possible squad wise or cash wise, especially if nobody wants to buy Havertz.

That's also possible, yes, I am simply trying to apply his playstyle at Spurs to the kind of player Felix is. I could be way off.

Even if I agree that Dele and Felix are both the same in terms of workate and pressing, there's still a massive difference in terms of output which is most likely why Pochettino was willing to keep using Dele.

Decent player but he hasn’t shown enough to justify the outlay.

I'm sure he was doing well, my point of contention was that for Felix "doing well" is 8 goals and 4 assists all season. That was his best ever season in La Liga apparently. For Greizmann 15 goals and 14 assists is just a average season I guess according to their fans. 

He is very talented, if Atletico were more reasonable and he was willing to take a wage cut I wouldn't be completely against him as a squad player but they seem to want their cake and eat it too so that's not going to happen any time soon. 

Ah well. We can’t sign everyone and I don’t think he did enough most games to continue with. we’ve other positions of more importance to spend the transfer budget on

By all reports we wanted a buy option, maybe even a buy obligation, as part of the loan, but Atletico refused as they believed Felix would come here, light it up and they could get a much larger fee, making a profit on the huge fee they paid for him.

They gambled and it looks like they lost.

Disappointed we are not making a move to keep him but not all that surprised. Pochettino has a massive rebuild ahead of him and we are already dancing on the head of the FFP pin. Makes sense for Pochettino to take some time to consider where best to invest what might be relatively limited funds before committing a large chunk to Felix. 

 

Slightly gutted if we end up with Havertz playing behind a centre forward next season after letting Felix go. Felix is a vastly superior player.

That is genuinely the only thing I could get behind if we want to keep Felix. Havertz HAS to go. 

Unless Tuchel/Bayern do us a solid he isn't going anywhere. Thankfully Nkunku coming in has Havertz benched.

Anyone have any information on Nkunku's injury record? I understand he has missed a lot of games this season?

Hopefully we don't need to buy another sofa for the physio's waiting room. It would be a bit cramped to fit anyone else in alongside James, Chilwell, Kante, Fofana etc.

Rumour has it once the squad has been trimmed down our expanded dressing room will be turned in to a long term care facitility for James, Chilwell and Kante so we can free up space in the physio room for anyone else who actually needs treatment...

I’m sure he’ll scam us some other way, with another fraud. You have to feel for Atletico Madrid though, they have been excellent without Felix, it’s a problem that won’t go away. However, when you have an agent that is marketing you as Mbappe & Ronaldo rolled into one for £80m and 300k pw you never know who you may fool along the way. Almost got us.. 

Felix is simply not good enough to command the price point he will come at currently.. I don’t blame the club he missed bucket loads and also signed a long term deal before coming.

the only way could have been if he hadn’t signed the deal and angled for this move .. but not at this price point.
