He was dreadful in that game, gave the ball away nearly every time he had it. That video is hilarious fanboy nonsense against an incredibly weak team.

Oriel Romeo got 8.5 or 9 out of 10 for Barcelona ffs.

Proven quality is a fine thing when the quality is actually high. Otherwise I will almost always gamble on 'unproven quality' over 'known liability'.

That's what top players can do though, Drogba played many games like that for us. Still scored a goal and contributed to another. Better than anything we see from our lot. 

Scored another goal and got himself a nice assist tonight too.

Scored a second now and has looked really good.

I really don’t understand why we didn’t want him. He’s quite clearly a very talented player and was waiting to explode, all he needed was the right team / manager.

Another one we’ve missed out on. I won’t be surprised at all if he becomes their best player.

Right team, right manager and a centre-forward to play off, in, through. 

Early days though. But, yes. Even Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles would see how naturally gifted he is. Just glad he didn't up at an EPL club.

Do you really think here would be the best place for him to shine? Even Enzo of late has looked average with us, but looks great for Argentina.

If we had signed Fleix I am fairly sure he would still look cr@p for us.

It's honestly our club. Players for some reason struggle massively here. Felix is just another example.

No idea why but do we really need anymore examples?

I never really thought he was as bad as people made him out to be when he was here. He reminded me of a lot of players that arrive in January. Flashes of brilliance here and there, but mostly learning to adapt to a new league and climate. I saw more promise in Felix than I have seen in any of the signings we have made since the new owners came in........well, apart from Enzo.

I genuinely think most of it was just due to the Mason Mount nonsense. I would've absolutely loved to have him right now in the CAM position with Enzo and Caicedo behind him.

I suspect this was the case too. 

Barcelona don't use him at CAM. He's playing LW with Xavi intending to suffocate the sides with possession minded midfielders and a dynamic attack. It's football that clearly suits him but lets not pretend Real Betis or Royal Antwerp are opposition they shouldn't be destroying.

This has nothing to do with Mason Mount, this has to do with Felix as a footballer in a league that demands a lot. Unlike La Liga where you can win the league playing Marcos Alonso at CB.  His off the ball contributions were poor and had a lower chance creation per 90 than Gallagher. This is sh*t you can't get away with in the Premier League, particularly when every attacking player at Arsenal, Liverpool, and City work their bollocks off at every end of the pitch. 

 

All of that money we've spunked since the new owners came in and we couldn't find the money for Felix.

He can play CAM though. 

There was definitely a Mount vs Felix rivalry on this forum that divided opinions at the time. But we definitely could've done without a player or two to accommodate him into the side with how much we've spent this season. Wishful thinking on my part, I think he's a quality player and he did show it last season despite how horrific the team was.

May as well be speaking for our entire squad then, because they were all sh*t last season apart from Silva. At least Felix was showing potential.
