Joao Felix

Featured Replies

When I watch him play, I always feel a bit let down... You can see his quality here and there but then nothing happens and I feel like he hasn't given his all. It's the complete opposite to Sancho, whom I thought would be another luxury player but he is showing that he cares and gives his all every game he's played, better or worse, but always tries (at least so far).

I mean, there’s a mix of optimistic messages about Joao along with pessimistic ones. Moments where you mention he seems like he’s going to become top-tier, followed by inconsequential moments. And in the end, Joao’s inconsistency and the prospect of him becoming important and untouchable still feel like something distant that never materializes.

The same thing happened here in Spain. Right now, he’s having a good run of form and is showing pride after what Maresca said (he also did the same when Simeone said similar things here). But it lasts for about a month; then he stops working, stops pressing the opponent, and goes back to playing for himself.

Joao once said that his goal was to win the Ballon d’Or, and we all believed him. That’s why he’s always been regarded as a top player who never truly takes off. But the reality is that he’s a good player for easy matches, like the 2-6 against Wolves, the 5-0 vs Barrow, the 1-4 vs Panathinaikos, the 8-0 vs Noa, or the 1-5 vs Southampton. In those games, he has scored or assisted. All blowouts or against weak opponents. Against Newcastle, which was a more challenging match, he didn’t show up. And Maresca doesn’t trust him for games against tough opponents. That’s a fact.

What I’m trying to say is that Joao isn’t going to improve. What you see now is exactly what he is.

@Remodez Is this true?

Yeah. Here at Atlético de Madrid, he hinted in an interview in Portugal that his style did not fit Simeone's and that he needed more freedom.

Simeone gave him 2 titles after those statements and gave him freedom playing as a second striker behind Suarez and in both games he neither put pressure nor sacrificed one bit, nor did he make differences, he did nothing with his "freedom of action" He only made gestures unpleasantness towards the bench when he was substituted in the second game.

Something that neither Barcelona nor Chelsea have dared to do. The next thing he did was push as hard as he could to go on loan to Barcelona. There he failed in a style that benefited him and said that it was difficult for him to adapt to Barcelona's game.

Now at Chelsea I don't know what excuse they will make. But if in a month or a month and a half, he is not a starter, he will ask to leave and look for new excuses.

Haha sorry, I was just making a funny. I largely agree with you.

Shut up, its nice to have fans from other teams on here give their opinion.

No difference from the Leicester fans we have commenting.

He already did, he keeps repeating the same thing over and over.

And he's right every time. Just ignore him if it bothers you, I think he's making some excellent posts.

You are right guys ,i dont have an issue with ATM or any fans of other teams. Im just tired of seeing the same post 7 months later about why Felix was sh*t at atletico when its already been explained 10 times by 3 different Atletico fans, its all good.

He's joining in with the topic of conversation. I doubt he's going to come on here and talk about Robert Sanchez.

Gallagher, Azpi and Felix i imagine as far as he goes. Let the man talk.

I thought that today’s performance against Shamrock Rovers summed up perfectly Felix’s attitude. When he came on he had a few good movements and touches, missed a couple of chances (maybe not sitters), he lost the ball trying to do nice to look at tricks and then faded into a passenger. I mean, good bench option for this sort of games but I wouldn’t trust him if we were chasing a game.

I'd like to think it was a smart signing that we'll flip for profit in a year or two but how much did we pay for him again?

No surprise he's apparently the only signing Maresca wasn't invested in this summer.

46++M, we could sell him off to MLS or saudis for like 50M. He's 25 this year, if he still hasn't kicked on in 2years, he'd still be at a prime age, skillful, pace-y, 50M is a steal for anyone.

MLS record transfer is like 13M, don't think that's an option.

Saudi would be a good idea but i think his ego would prevent that happening.

The striker moved from Atletico Madrid to join the London club on a permanent deal worth €52 million and now they are thought to be having buyer's regret, per Fichajes.

The outlet states that the "former Atletico Madrid player's performances are far below expectations, and Stamford Bridge is already beginning to consider the options of selling him in the next winter transfer market."

It's also believed that his former club Benfica are eyeing a move for Felix. The Portugal international has played just 294 minutes of Premier League action and features mainly in the club's "B Team", the second side of Chelsea that play in cup competitions.

Felix's future at Chelsea could be bolstered, however, as Mykhailo Mudryk reportedly tested positive for banned substance meldonium, in what was shock news yesterday.

Fichajes 😂

Bloke has proven to be a blatant liar. He's actually being clowned in Spanish media.

I honestly don’t get the negativity around him.

Its a long way back for him after being in the wilderness for so long and I’m pretty happy with him tbh.

Hes still got a way to go to be a first pick at the Bridge but he’s coming along nicely.

Honestly, I think most clubs in world football would have him as a squad option. He's became such a weirdly disliked player on here and I don't get why.

It really is sad days when a "blogger" writes that a player may be given starts in the team because the bloke warming the bench seat in front of him has been done for performance-enhancing drugs... What does that say about his efforts so far. Pretty savage take.

Lets hope he kicks on at Benfica while on loan and bumps up his transfer value.
