If he's one of their own, sure they will take a few chances and help him to progress Yeah but see what I don't understand with these loans, is it the club or loanee club that pushes for the move. If Forest did which I always thought then surely they didn't need to ask for the loan if they are of that mindset. I know sometimes the clubs will look for a team to send their players too for a chance at developing but not sure the dynamic these days....
March 31, 20242 yr Two successive starts for Santos .. and two successive wins for Strasbourg ! He's done well in both games and especially so considering how few minutes he's played this season.

They've been playing awfully and Santos only got called up when there was a bunch of injuries.

April 7, 20242 yr Let's end the day on a positive note. A third successive start and excellent performance from Andrey today ... Strasbourg unbeaten when he starts ! He has now moved up to 2nd in their squad on the season Whoscored average rating ... small game sample granted, but encouraging all the same, and doubly commendable after the fiasco of his Forest loan. April 7, 20242 yr He'll be a regular next season along with Kepa, Lukaku, Ziyech, Hall, Angelo, Fofana and Maatsen!
April 11, 20242 yr Apparently he just won the Ligue 1 young player of the month award. Sounds like this loan is doing a good job of rebuilding his confidence.

Aye he did: https://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/2024/4/11/24127589/chelsea-loanee-andrey-santos-wins-ligue-1-young-player-of-the-month-award-for-march Maybe had Steve Cooper realised he is vastly more talented that the midfielders Forest have he would still be in a job and Forest not so close to going down.
April 12, 20242 yr Where's he operating for Strasbourg? As a 6 or more or a box to box 8? Surely stays with the squad next season. Lavia / Ugochukwu / Caicedo / Enzo / Andrey

We've played the entire season with no suitable backup to Enzo/Caicedo and Gallagher is likely to be sold. Plenty of minutes available at Chelsea and saves us wasting even more money on some other youngster that will need a season or two to integrate.

Doesn’t have to a youngster though; we could pick up a midfield presence on a bosman on a 2yr deal to add much needed experience. One of Rabiot, Zielinski, Ndidi or Idrissa Gueye can be added into the mix, while he develops on loan. Personally would prefer us exploring free transfer market to add experience in certain positions, and spending big on either a CF or a CB.

One year left so not a free but hopefully doable. Would add real structure, strength and discipline, and allow all of them to develop, Lavia, Ugo and Santos, for a couple of years. Pipe dream, never happen in a million years.

Tbh I'd take a 34 year old Kroos over Kimmich. Kimmich and Goeretzka have regressed immensely.

Much of it could be down to Tuchel so who knows, given this is the same man that said no to Tchouameni, thought Gallagher in a pivot was a good idea and wanted to bring in McTominey to replace Kimmich.

Its a fair point, hence why i think Kimmich is possibly gettable. He has seriously fallen out with Tuchel and may be ready to bail altogether, even with a new guy going in there.

Oh absolutely i'd love some experience in the team, it was suicide going into this season with T.Silva and Sterling as our only players with experience that can last a season. I was just playing devils advocate as i couldn't see Clearlake willing to sign anyone old enough to grow armpit hair.
