Think its about comfort in positioning your body to use your weaker foot when needed. I've already seen Badiashile play some direct passes with his right foot last season. We'll have to wait and see. That would be my ideal partnership.

No different for two left footed players. Is true. Jt trained his left peg to be brilliant too though, fantastic range of passing. Is more positionally if they adapt to being on the other side, having just one player to right rather than 2 and vice versa. Will see, hopefully it works since we don't have Fofana.
September 7, 20232 yr I`ve seen this right footed, left footed CB thing around lately, just more inane bollocks. For decades it was never a problem, it was a nice to have if you could pair a lefty with a righty but its suddenly become a thing where having a righty on the left is seen as a major problem. IF you have a CB who cant play on one side due to being certain footed then he shouldn't be playing anywhere near at the top level of the sport ffs. Playing non league if a CB had said he could`nt play left because he`s a righty he would have been laughed out the club.

Not even once. Is it just a matter of there being more right footed players than left?

November 25, 20232 yr I'm sorry for anyone that will find this to be offensive but Badiashile shouldn't have started the match today at St. James Park. T.Silva did the job for 2 CBs today and in the end made a terrible mistake due to having so much responsibility while Badiashile was taking walks and touching grass. Am I going to be the first one to ask, what is Poch doing?

Even when he had Vertonghen and Alderweirald at CB at Tottenham, I still thought they conceded too many simple goals.
November 25, 20232 yr Humbling after people have spent months pretending he's a good centre back. He might be one, he's not bad but it's always funny how injured players become superstars when they're out for a while and results are poor. Back down to earth now and he'll have to improve.

Pretending? The genuine consensus is that Badiashile is our best CB, which is true. Even under Potter people were going ballistic how we had gone registering Koulibaly over him in the Champions League. He's been thrown into one of the biggest matches of the season despite being out all season.

Under the video the club posted of training this week the part timer Fofana is our best defender on the rare occasions he plays. All these players bar Silva who's proven quality are amazingly better when they don't actually play for us. When we watch them each week they're universally not the idea people have of them solely in their minds.

Ask any Chelsea fan here and the majority would say they'd want Fofana+Badiashile as their CB pairing. Some exclusive would say Badiashile + Colwill. Loads of us have been vocal of this being the perfect summer to let Silva go and its hardly unsurprising he's the common denominator in us conceding 60% of our 2004/2005 goals in the last 3 matches alone. He's f**king 40. Edited November 25, 20232 yr by Sconnie Blue

He's f**king 40. I don't know, I personally don't even rate Fofana, never even wanted us to sign him. Badiashile had a good start, I don't understand why he was dropped. I definitely wasn't banking him on being a guaranteed first choice going forward though, we hadn't seen enough of him. Silva will need to slowly be phased out soon, but until these players start showing they can be capable replacements, that won't be happening.

Colwill had his bad moments this season too but when fit I think he should be starting. Ideally at CB and not LB though.
