Enzo Fernandez - Officially a Blue!

Featured Replies

The backheel move was insane, doing that sh*t move in a final shows fame got into his head, no maturity at all.

Both he and Caicedo have a Spanish speaker as the manager and both act as if it's the first week of them being at the club.

I said a long time ago that this project depends on this expensive midfield, that they will either make or break the team... And they aren't making this project into a team, in fact as soon as you take away Gallagher Enzo is invisible and underwhelming and so is Caicedo, 200m spent on something that won't work.

Felt he was awful in the first half. Second half he was slightly better for a good 20 min spell or so. Extra time he went back to being completely useless and ineffectual.

If it was up to me I would have hooked him off around the 60th min for Nkuku and drop Connor deeper but he somehow managed to last the full game. I can only assume he was kept on so long just for the pens.

Agreed. Must have been the player who lost the ball for us in midfield more than anybody today. He couldn't handle Liverpool's pressing at all.

His lack of pace is frightening and sometimes he makes Jorginho look quick.

Its more than slightly ironic that the guy we were in a hurry to get rid of is currently racking up MOTM performances for Arsenal in the title race while our world record replacements are busy getting embarrassed by most while lounging in mid-table for the second season in a row.

Yeah, hardly plays like a World Cup winner does he. It’s been a year now, and he was so sharp when he first joined. Struggles to impact games now.

sh*te game from him I have to say, made some good passes, but really f**ked up two pivotal moments in the game with stupid sh*t. Had Sterling out open with acres of space with two players next to him on the byline and he tries an outside of the foot through ball like he was in practice.

And that backheel... Haunting moment, I still can't get it out of my head after the game. Other moments in the game I remember him being 2nd to just about everything. Again, him and Caicedo have their moments but they are also inconsistent. I know we need to be patient but it's f**king annoying watching that in such a big game.

He is a good player, but I just don't see him working out here. I think he will be off in the next year, probably to Spain.

It could be the realization that we are a mid-table team now and won't be competing for any major trophies for at least another 2 years that's playing on his mind. Probably doesn't have the mindset to continue in such a team and has his mind set on being in a better team.

He won't want to waste his care at a mid table PL side. Either we get better, or he leaves.

If you think Jorginho is better than Enzo, I can't help you. And why hasn't Arteta been picking him to start more often? Even with Partey having a long term injury.

Not going to get into it but proofs in the pudding @just. You know, you'd think Tuchel, Jorginho, Kovacic and the likes were all bang average for us going by whats written on here but the ugly truth is that we've replaced all of them only to go backwards to such an extent that I can't even find the right word for it.

With a few exceptions Enzo have looked bang average for a mid-table side since he arrived at the club. Take away the World Cup and the hype and he's not all that. Kova and Jorgi and the others had us competing. Proofs in the pudding and we'd have been better if Kovacic-Jorginho was our midfield pairing the season over Enzo-Caicedo.

The real problem here is you actually believe this. Without any consideration of the circumstances in play either on the pitch or in the running of the club. You firmly believe, with all your heart, that Jorginho was and is, a better player than Enzo. And no amount of stats, or video clips, or differing opinions, will change your view.

I do wonder how you function with the harsh reality of the present on a daily basis? You are so wrapped up in your rose-tinted longing for the past.

You got any better ideas?

It's not my fault we went down the Boehly-Potter-Poch route. You liked it (at least at some point), I hated it from day 1 since I knew it would ruin everything. Thanks to the "Sack him now, bring Potter" brigade I guess.

And yes, of course he was better. Is he better? Haven't seen enough of Arsenal to conclude but for us he was a million times better. You would of course be the last person in the world to admit that though so its all good.

Not many details there my friend. In what aspects is he better than Enzo? Tackling, running with the ball, passing, assists, goals, creativity, physicality, movement, speed?

I can only say that discussing him with you is such a colossal waste of time that I won't get into it. And he's not even here anymore so i'm not going to bother, sorry.
Not that I really miss him either, had we actually replaced him we'd have been fine, if we got Declan Rice for example.

I'll just highlight one of the things you mentioned though. In 53 games for us Enzo Fernandez have a whopping 3 assists. He's nowhere near as good as you think he is. And please don't mention speed, I feel bad for him every time I see him attempt to catch someone.

I have absolutely no problem with him being hesitant passing to Sterling in that situation as he'd just f**ked up a 1v1 two minutes before. Anyone actively avoiding giving the ball to Sterling gets kudos.

ha ha ha. Some people shouldn't be allowed to talk about football.

Crespo, Veron.... Di Santo... and now Enzo... despite huge reputations couldn't settle in West London. The Premiership is far too quick for Enzo, it challenges him too much and as I said in another post, isn't a team player of capable of influencing results unless it's a championship team which uurprisingly, the level of Portuguese football and why he looks a world beater against teams like Preston and Middlesborough.

Do Argentines actually like playing for Chelsea?

The kindest thing to do is shift him on in the summer.

Save your laugh until we are out of 11th buddy!

Funny how Arsenal and City wanted so called sh*t players innit. But ha ha ha, perhaps our midfield will really knuckle down and sneak into the top half before the seasons over!

Enzo in this awful Chelsea side is registering double the xA than world class Jorginho was registering in the 2020/21 CL Chelsea side. Context is important.

Enzo also has 20x higher non-penalty xG than Jorginho from that year.

Want to highlight anything else completely irrelevant??

Both players sit on the bench at their respective clubs every week.

Go ask Arteta and Pep if they'd swap Kovacic and J5 for Enzo.

Mind numbingly stupid.
