These clubs were originally interested of Enzo, heard also PSG, but Enzo dont want to go to France league. He wants to play top teams and top level.
January 27, 20233 yr If this happened (and a massive if), would that be the best transfer window in the history of our club, and football?

All funds clearly stockpiled for Mbappe. Barcelona - broke. Liverpool - priority clearly Bellingham but their owners want out, just a cloud of uncertainty over them. Arsenal - No competition for Boehly and co, plus their funds will only go so far regardless of us being a factor. Then that leaves Man-City, with KDB turning 32 this year, so yea.. that’s a problem. Somewhat inevitable now we’ve fumbled it.

Surely attractive for JB to link up with Haaland again, plus play with his fellow England boys Foden and Grealish ?
January 27, 20233 yr With the right back now in the bag, just this guy left to compete the transfer window. To the Boehly Boeing!

And we can never leave Madrid out of the equation, Ancelotti himself has said Modric & Kroos are being phased out, and I guess they have one more spot in the midfield for JB or Enzo to partner Tchouameni and Camavinga. Plus United can always spend big as well, think they're more of a threat than Arsenal.

I think during summer they will blast money as they want to play top football, they want him and they will have serious money during summer. Manchester City, yes I think we will be 2nd in command if they start to bid for him. I hope we have capability to make Enzo transfer to happen, we have time till early next week.

January 27, 20233 yr Yea, United is always a factor, I just feel (if even you argue) Madrid can squeeze him in, they are destined for Mbappe and that signing in the midst of the investment made to their stadium is going to be an astronomical sum being paid out to PSG. This one just has Aguero 2.0 all over it for me, can’t see past City especially with them missing out on the title and looking to strengthen. Arsenal seem keen on Rice & Caicedo or both.

What do you reckon our chances are of getting him? Todd is said to have told Dortmund he will better any offer.

How much truth is in that though? All we know as of now is that Enzo is the only CM we have put in a substantial bid for. The fact we re-entered negotiations with Benfica a second time gives me the impression Enzo is the marquee signing the club wants. Suspicion Jude and his entourage already gave their preference on where he wants to go, and it isn’t us.

I guess that is fair with history on the side of 04-05. Had to refresh myself on who all came in that summer, and amazing to look back. Notables being Drogba, Cech, Carvalho, Robben, Ferreira. Tiago and Alex worth a shoutout also, although Tiago didn't stay long (nice goal at Old Trafford though!) and Alex didn't really get a chance under Jose.

Now would be the wrong time to give an answer to that question. We'll only be able to judge it in a few years from now. January 28, 20233 yr I think the only way we will get him this window is by paying the release clause. There has been no indication up to now that we are willing to do that.

The last rumour I can remember that appeared to have died only to be revived in the 11th hour was David Luiz, hopefully history with the same club repeats itself 🤣
