If we’re serious in wanting him it’s now or never, no more 7+ year contract in the summer, plus City will probably be in then.

Also appears numerous stories of benfica trying to increase release clause along with a loyalty payment. Either we’re talking to his agent and things are maybe happening, or about to be even more priced out.

January 29, 20233 yr On 26/01/2023 at 17:32, RIP Mourinho said: If we sign Enzo we still need an elite anchor next to him or we're just in the same position Utd were in with Pogba for 5 years. Unless of course we're expecting Enzo to play that role of the anchor, which is a complete waste of his talents and a waste of money. God i wish we still had Mikel. I think it depend who you ask around here. Some already thinking about getting Bellingham.
January 29, 20233 yr I think this deal depends on Benfica's replacement. If they can't find one, no deal...we can always help him buyout his contract but I think we would have already done so if we were going to.

Various reports our new director team have been speaking to several agents about many different options to assess the best one. Think Enzo won't be coming.

January 29, 20233 yr We’ve basically told Benfica we will pay the full price. Rui Costa is still not happy

January 29, 20233 yr Who normally posts this? Pardon my interruption honestly though, this is all Sunday paper talk with not a lot else to talk about Edited January 29, 20233 yr by PhilH930
January 29, 20233 yr If we can get this deal and this would be one hell of a transfer window! The type of window we have been craving for years. No messing about please Chelsea, if we are “ruining football” we might as well ruin it properly.
January 29, 20233 yr Imagine if we actually get this done by Tuesday. I hope the club do everything possible to get this over the line and finalised.
January 29, 20233 yr This is too much money ffs , he's never played in a league like ours. I hope I'm wrong but this feels like another huge amount of money for someone who won't cut it , Torres , Pulisic ,Ziyech , Lukaku , Morata to name a few.

Enzo can be even better than Fabregas.
January 29, 20233 yr Chelsea officials could travel to Portugal to try to get this one done - just as Eghbali and Winstanley flew to Turkey to get the Mudryk deal over the line #cfc @mattlaw
January 29, 20233 yr Crazy times gents, I'll be honest I don't think they will accept €120m with €80m paid upfront purely out of principle and to be spiteful, but also just because they don't want to sell. The owner wants to play hardball, unless we've smoothed things over with him I reckon it's release clause or nothing. Problem is when you drop €120m on a release clause, the whole financial package can end up being €160m- 200m if you count player wages especially since we're doing 7 year deals. Edit: eff autocorrect, On another note I'll add on that nothing has changed from the player's side he's wanted to come since we first moved for him. The numbers are astronomical, but at the end of the day he's exactly what we need. I think Boehly knows this and will try and get it done. Let's wait and see Edited January 29, 20233 yr by LongtimerLurker
