That record won't be set in stone though and some other player will come a long and have potential to break it even if Kane does break it himself. What if Haaland decides he loves City and stays there for the rest of his career?

He has to go for the trophies and consistant champions league football.

At the rate Haaland is going he'll probably break it during his current contract

I reckon he will stay, waiting for a bid from an English club so he could break that all time record. Wouldn't be surprised if signs an extension, with a relatively cheap buy-out clause for next season. He's a great player, but I don't think he's that hungry for trophies, after all he's been spending his life at Spurs.

If the record is his target which to him might be more valuable than titles in a one team league, why sign an extension?

He'll just wait till January when he can sign for any English club and all he has to do to secure interest is maintain current level at spurs. Go to any club like Man Utd , City and even with Pochettino now with us if our strikers end up misfiring who says there can't be an interest in working together from Pochettino's side.

Alan Shearer must be over the moon with Kane going to bayern

I think he’ll return to the PL later in his career to get that record over the line, 4-5 years at Bayern then back to Spurs or (depending on his level at 35 years old) maybe a lesser club, if there is such a thing.

He must be due a good injury by now, felt like he was always having treatment at Dortmund.

Fair point actually. It would be interesting to see how Citeh would fare with the personnel changes they have made if he did have a lengthy lay off

The "top PL ever scorer" record is pretty meaningless anyway, firstly English English didn't start in 1992 and secondly the only reason it's even common knowledge Shearer holds the PL record is because he has a big media presence and reminds people weekly.

I couldn't tell you who the highest ever scorer in any of the other top flight leagues are and i don't even care enough to check, heck I've even forgot who the UCL all time top scorer is.

Don't think they'd miss a beat, Alvarez is arguably a better systematic fit for them so as a team they may even get better.

I agree. Haaland is a major goal-scoring force for City, but I feel they look more of a team when Alvarez is playing. At least based on the style Guardiola prefers them to play.

I have seen it written and heard it said many times, if Kane turns down Bayern he shows no ambition. I say it is the other way around.

Wait our the year, go to Barca, Real or a PL side with a chance of winning something.

there is a reason Bellingham, Sancho and Haaland made them moves they did rather that to Bayern. Winning a one team league means zip all. "OH Harry helps Bayern to title 12 in a row" big whoop.

Only means something if he helps them win the CL.

The first time in his career that he made the right decision. Becoming the all time Premier League goalscorer is nice, but it's nothing compared to actually winning trophies, which will surely happen for him at Bayern.

Yes glad he has gone, once again Kane proves Spurs are a nasty club hanging out until the end.

Part of me wanted him to stay so they would lose their best asset on a free.

Have to respect Kane as well, did not knock Spurs though must have been annoyed by how they kept turning down offers.

Bayern getting thrashed 3-0 by Leipzig in the Super Cup. Kane came on as sub at some point in the 2nd half and has barely had a kick - not his fault, the supply has been terrible.

Bayern under Tuchel looks a bit like Chelsea under Tuchel. Slow down attacks and take an age getting the ball into the box.
