Have to admit, I'm warming a bit more to Ruben Amorim the more I hear about him. Won Sporting their first title in 19 years whilst using a lot of young players, plays 3-4-3 (which I feel is our best formation), and he's only 38.

Not sure the 343 is sustainable in the long run. Much like we saw with Conte and Tuchel, it is very much a short term gain.

Not to mention the attacking talent we now have at our disposal.

Juventus won the title for 9 years running playing either 3-5-2 or 3-4-3, apart from one season under Sarri. Any formation is sustainable in the long run if the tactics/players are good enough

Not to mention we have 3 absolutely class defenders in Badiashile, Thiago Silva and Fofana, it'd be a waste to leave one on the bench. Koulibaly is beginning to look a lot better too, and Colwill will be coming back next season, along with possibly signing Gvardiol.

3 at the back gets the best out of Reece James too, as he has more license to push forward. It also protects Thiago Silva and Koulibaly's pace a lot more, making them look a lot more comfortable and show their quality. It's an unconventional formation, but I feel like it gets the best out of this current squad.

I feel with James, Chilwell, Gusto and (hopefully) Maatsen it will be.

Part of the reason it went wrong last time is we started relying on players wholy unsuitable for that position.

The fact Pochetino is winning this vote shows we should stick with Potter for now.

Thank you RIP Mourinho for using his full name. Calling him P*** really f**king irritates me - makes everyone sound like a S**** supporter.

Actually @Mod is it possible to set up an autocomplete such that P*** automatically appears as Pochettino?

Maybe. I'm still not convinced.

Also still fearful that players like Mudryk and Madueke will have gone to waste.

Play them LF and RF? Liverpool play a very narrow front three with fast wingers as well

Please, let’s not revert to the 3 at the back. We’ve been asking for a formation with more attacking players and not to rely that much in our defensive players, as good as they are attacking wise. We should use them, yes, but not rely so much on them. Liverpool use them but they don’t play with a back line of 3. And we’ve used a back 4 against Dortmund and looked good.

If James and Chilwell are going to be tucking in then it suits them.

Under Potter we have scored considerably less goals with the extra attacker on the pitch vs when we've had 3 centre backs and one less attacker. Arse about face I know, but there you go. Not much about Potterball makes much sense right now LOL.

Hence I'm not surprised the manager has gone back to 3 at the back, and if the players are more comfortable with it as well, then I guess we will probably see it for a run of games, especially as it was what Potter predominantly played at Brighton. Looking forward to the 4-2-3-1 against Dortmund 🙂

Or the league standard is poor enough.

In addition to that, can we get an autocomplete for the Fat Spanish Waiter? Any mention of his first or last name should automatically be changed to either FSW or (preferably) Fat Spanish Waiter. And don't anybody start bleating 'disrespectful' to me  I'm sure it's how he's registered for any census.

PS @Mod is my request for Cleaning Solution still pending?

But what if I want to talk about this guy?

While we're on the subject can we bring back bastard > bar steward?

There has been a major downturn in the tone and quality of posts on the forum, and I am almost certain the removal of this particular censor is the main reason why.

You don't, it's as simple as that! Should you foolishly insist on talking tennis, talk this guy  (our next Director of Fighting Spirit if it's up to me):

I didn't mind Rafa too much at the end, felt a bit sorry for him! The things he apparently said re Chelsea fans (while at Liverpool) was fake news and probably pushed out by one of them. The Drogba thing was true though which he made even by scoring and celebrating in front of him! I did read some of the players didn't think much of him when he was with us!

I couldn't change that Val, in case we play them at some time and the forum will read like a cleaning solution sponsorship!

@Mod , you disappoint me: you mention the FSW by shortening his first name. That is exactly what I don't wish to see here!! He's not your mate, he is the Fat Spanish Waiter ffs

Instead of Cleaning Solution, how about A*** ? Or at least A**x ? Pleeeeeeeeaaaaaase? Can I bribe you?
