June 25, 20242 yr As expected France can barely score and England can’t beat a low block. England will do a lot better when they play a team with as much ability and can play on the break a bit more. England does have the talent but the selection and management holding them back. And now not much sel belief.
June 26, 20242 yr Some of the analysis about England is 😵💫😵💫😵💫 England win the group and in the easier bracket. The problem with England is simple. Ex united pundit think mainoo should play. Ex pool think tren should play. Ex city think foden need to play as a 10. Ex Chelsea think Palmer should start. 😂😂😂😂 Edited June 26, 20242 yr by Bob stark

Was very good at providing assists and general defensive game was good as well. In fact I remember his contract was running up and I was thinking would he leave as although he did really well at LB, he did not want to play their long term and a lot of people was wondering if that would be his new position. But, yeah he did really well there. That game where we drew with them at the Bridge 2-2, he was playing at LB too. Southgate won't play him at LB anyway, but will be interesting to see what he does next game. Palmer better be starting anyway, but Southgate uno meh...

And if Shaw can't play, what is he doing there, aside from that we have 0 left back options. And what does everyone think of Wright's suggestion of playing Saka at left back 🤔 I suggested the Saka move myself after the draw against Denmark. Arteta has on several occasions moved a Saka back to FB when chasing a game. Saka is excellent at defending for an attacker and would give balance that a right footed LB lacks. If Southgate want to make the offense prettier, play Trent as rb and walker as lb. Allow Trent to play similar to his pool role where he can drift inside outside. There is talk that England doesn't produce kroos/ pirlo. trent is one of the best passer in the world just don't play him as midifelder.
June 26, 20242 yr Reading the comments on the England match I'm glad I skipped it. Well, to be honest, I didn't really skip it as much as think it would be tonight instead of yesterday Still, I'm glad I skipped it
June 26, 20242 yr Funny seeing people think Southgate will change anything for the next game, it will be the same team, wouldnt even surprise me that he brings Arnold back in and thats the only change.

He HAS to make changes. If he keeps that same line-up and doesn't start the likes of palmer and we get knocked out, he will be lynched and rightly so.

It is a suggestion I made after the Danish match which Ian Wright confirmed last night that Saka started as a LB and has done a job there previously. Problem is playing Walker on the left gives the same imbalance that we are currently experiencing whilst weakening the right side. TAA whilst good on delivery is not a good defender, couple this with Palmer whilst good at attacking is not as good as Saka in the defensive aspect of tracking back etc. We have a lot of very good players but fitting them all into the right roles is proving a headache for Southgate. Playing Foden on the left is completely nullifying his effectiveness in a similar way to when we had the Lampard/Gerrard/Scholes conundrum. Bellingham is going to be a very good player, personally though I still see him as a bit of a kid and this tournament may just be a step too early. Personally I'd like to see Gordon on the right, Foden centre and Palmer on the right. Saka could be the balance in defence in the same way that Bale operated sometimes. All just opinion and Knowing Southgate it will be the same team with change of full back next game.

Basically what happened in Denmark game after scoring first goal.

June 26, 20242 yr My recollection. Nervy start with undercut passing including Bellingham risking to open up our defence. We settled down notably with Gallagher's running giving everyone a free pass though rarely used and at times when he was, he was caught flat footed. His run gave Saka a 1 on 1 on the right, who didn't take advantage. On the left Bellingham tried to help out with Trippier and Foden, probably our best chance came from a deep cross bening engineered for Trippier, Gallagher and Kane could not make contact yet thier defence was opened up. A shame it was not tried again. This was about the time the move where Fodens cross from the right put Saka in, Foden was off-side. On Kane, you could tell the media got to him, his running no longer looked like an OAP going for the bus, in terms of overall game not involved that much. His tendency to drop deep is still there, for the life of me when he does this why does someone else not take up the central role, Foden perhaps. They attacked too and built the play well without threatening too much. Gallagher off and Mainoo on, Mainoo first touches were shaky though he improved yet I could not make out Bellingham's role except Rice was unchanged. Palmer was good when he came on threatening to open them up yet the one chance that was created for him his strike was poor. Gordon should have had more time and I think Bowen should have replaced Kane towards the end, Edited June 26, 20242 yr by strider6004

German's were so confident of getting through the stages they had their training pitch laid out to the exact same dimensions as Wembley . I think they played Cezhcoslovakia ( f**king hard word to spell) in final.yeah, couldn't fault England's effort against that German team everyone knew we were so close , Holland game was best England performance I’ve seen. Played with pace and panaché

Shaw was on the bench yesterday surely next time he starts. Trippier out, I'm wondering if hs should replace Walker? I think Palmer needs to start.
June 26, 20242 yr Shaw was on the bench but with no intention of coming on. Not ready. Big ask to start first up next time.

June 26, 20242 yr I hope we can provide the team that Palmer's talent deserves. He won't want to hang around with us if we have any more seasons like the last couple. He's better than that.

Hes an incredibly conservative manager, the immediate change to defending a 1 goal lead when we do score is ridiculous. I just dont think he is the type to make the multiple changes needed. Even yesterday all subs were either like for like or defensive, when he had every opportunity to go Rice centrally holding and push Bellingham forward, move the attack around as they were just bashing against a brick wall.

I'm thinking Bellingham was in the trenches trying to link up Trippier with Foden, and hence Trippier's pin point cross and Foden getting to the byeline. I think Shaw will depend on how he reacts during training.
