Tuchel rested modric and co we rested chiller. I don’t think the team is physically tired but mentally it is because it is a crap season with most  players playing below potential.

sending the same players out to do the same thing that has failed all season is kind of dumb. But what is the alternative. We play possession ok but don’t score. Is that the fault of the attackers the midfield or the defence not starting things quick enough. We are so bad at scoring it’s easy for opposition to-kay deep for 70 minutes, attack for 20 minutes, score and win.

I have no idea why I carry any hope into these 2 legs. Nearly everything I've seen this year suggests we will get slammed. But... I just can't help myself. I can only be a masochist, just believing it's possible, when all the facts suggest otherwise. The only way we get a goal is playing on fast breaks, so please NO HAVERTZ, in the starting 11. Thats all. TTFN.

I would have trusted Potter on getting us through this leg more than Frank. Potter had our defense working pretty well. With Frank our defense was always a bit questionable. Real is a side that doesn't mind sitting back 90 minutes if they are pinned. They will hit us on counters.

More worrying to me is Frank has pretty much copied his system from Klopp and Real absolutely annihilated them off the park in two legs.

Best is we keep it tight and hope some of our players convert one of the chances we will get.

We won't win this with searching for balance. We win this by excecuting a perfect battle plan. I never felt Frank saw football that way as a coach...

After Saturday's debacle SFL must now realize the enormity of a task that awaits tomorrow and in the 2nd leg. 3 at the back or 4, Silva chanced or not, Donkey Boy up top or Wow Felix, these details whilst important are not as crucial as the team picked tomorrow playing with technical near-perfection, passion, some fire in their bellies and pride in our club - all things that have been absent for months.

Interested to see what SFL has to say in his presser. Still can't see a way past this tie for Chelsea.

First of all you are not realizing the occasion. Players will be anxious on hearing who starts. Anyone who starts will be so motivated. Every player joined Chelsea to play this game and these ties. If Frank succeeds in starting the right players and the formation we can get a result.

Hopefully Silva is fit enough to Start, we need leaders, he is all we have there.

Not true. James is, Enzo is, Kante is in his own way and Chilwell appears to be developing into one aswell.

Enzo likely will be, but I don't ask him to be yet as he has been here all of 5 minutes.

Kante is an inspiration in how he plays, but not a leader imo.

James is my greatest disappointment so far this season as a leader, I felt he has shirked his responsibility and been happy to fade in to the background, rather than help lift the team. Same as Mase.

Chilwell is coming along nicely there I will give you that one.

But that's what leadership is about just as much as being vocal. For me there's no better way to lead then setting an example to the rest both on the pitch and off it.

If throwing your weight around was the main requirement to be a true leader Warnock would have been an elite manager.

Ah, the Christmas Tree formation. Classic.

I watched the start of the game on the club web site the other day (the whole game is on there) and we took the knee with a back 4, the broadcaster put up the team as the 4-3-2-1, and then it all became very fluid after the kick off, morphing into the wing back system pretty quickly 🙂
