He's had moments but he's very much another kid who's shown nothing to suggest he's good enough in a team full of them. 1 or 2 of these kids in the squad is fine, gives people excitement and if they struggle like usual the experienced quality usually steps up but we don't have the quality he's looked as lost as all our other young players for most his time here. Carney wasn't even looking that great but he scored a goal and the hype train soon came. Chelsea fans haven't had much to cheer for from the 50 new signings and scoring being a problem so scoring a goal might be worthy of some hype 😂

They couldn't wait to see the back of him even if it meant we were no longer challenging for anything. And the main reason for that was because he replaced Lampard, who went on to nearly get Everton relegated for the first time in 104 years, if it wasn't for Dyche rescuing them. Roman 100% made the right decision in sacking him, yet he was villified for it.

However, I don't think that was our biggest problem. Our biggest problem at the moment is a lack of obvious goalscorers. That has been pretty clear even since pre-season once Nkunku got injured. Instead of bringing in an another striker with some experience, we signed a bunch more young players with 'potential' in positions where they weren't needed. So now our best hope is that we can find a source of a few goals for next couple of months until the likes of Nkunku return, and then hope that these key players stay fit and free of injury. Short term it doesn't look promising at all.

Halaand would not get any goals with this team currently until there start to be a some form of cohesion. Fans underestimate how important knowing your teammates and having a good understanding.
September 17, 20232 yr 5 games played, 5 goals scored, 5 goals conceded, points gained. Potter - relegation form. Lampard - Relegation form. Pochettino- relegation for. 3 different managers, same way of playing, same useless attacking play and lack of goals. Is it the managers, or the people picking the managers and players to sign, to blame?
September 17, 20232 yr Poch - loser at Southampton Poch - loser at Spurs Posh - loser at PSG Post - ....

It's a very Jose-esque quote to me and I not one I understand when there's literally 3 CB's on the pitch already. I assume it's aimed at Gusto who overlapped and tried to attack on a few occasions today and left some room behind him by doing so but either he's been left behind in footballs rapid developement or there is some other reason but I don't get it either way. Been a disasterous start for Poch.

I will say before the rest I want Pochettino to be give time, any manager deserves that chance. At least till the new year and assess where we are. I will also sat I don't believe he has what it takes and there will be multiple calls from even sensible posters on here for him to be sacked in the second half of the season. He is not a Jose, Carlo, a motivated Conte or a Tuchel. He does not have that something special to make average players look amazing, and he has been lumbered with average to sh*t players and no striker worth the name, except a possibly handicapped Broja.
September 17, 20232 yr Time to make tough choices because this simply is not working. To me that includes starting more attacking players, and benching some of the players that simply slow us down. I'll get flamed for this, but Silva and Gallagher are too slow and see too much of the ball to dictate our tempo. Enzo should be deeper where Gallagher is playing, and attackers with pace should be in the no.10 role. Seriously, how can a group of people spend so much time together and be so bad. I actually can't get my head around just how pathetic this team continues to be. Every week they seem to find a new way to disappoint, and I'm bloody bored of it. 40 years of Chelsea, and the absolute worse representation of the club I have ever seen. Top to bottom, side to side, the club is in an appalling state.
September 17, 20232 yr Pochettino would be an even bigger spuds legend if he sends us on our way down... So even if he loses, he wins lmao.
September 17, 20232 yr Even if we had got Luis Enrique, people would probably never have been happy if we weren't getting immediate results. I mean it's not ideal and obviously frustrating, but crazy to doubt Poch after so few games with key injuries and a system that isn't up to point yet.

Luis Enrique isn't that good, anybody could have won with Prime Messi, Neymar and Suarez up front. Even at PSG he's struggling already

Like we are scraping the barrel for any kind of positive. Not one player is carrying the club on his back at the very least.

I don't agree with all of poch's decisions but i have sympathy for him because I don't think Enrique or Pep or Klopp could challenge for a Europa spot if he spent 4 years here with our young untalented squad. Faffing about with 12 year old Brazilian kids might be some fetish for Clearlake and Todd Boehly but it doesn't address the big problems in the squad. We didn't attempt to fix them in the summer and we're seeing the consequences of that now. There isn't enough goal scoring talent in the squad for the manager to work with, I'm really not sure how any manager could be competitive with this team. Other clubs supporters will obviously try and push us to continue with this strategy as long as possible because it's in their best interest. Any u23 player will need some time to develop but I don't think fans expected a squad of mainly 25 and under, I've read many fans on here mention experience and youth together. Fans would also like some decent football and let's remember, Chelsea's first 5 games have included 10 man West Ham, Luton, Forest and Bournemouth and it's been awful.

Sure, it's a good thing if you've got the basics right otherwise but I doubt anyone had a burning desire to see Chelsea FC turn into a full blown development club only to see the ones who actually becomes good picked up by clubs who are actually competing. Spent a billion to become discount Arsenal from a decade ago.
