Is the plan to over pay to help grease the wheels of the Caicedo transfer?  My worry is now this transfer is done and still no Caicedo that Brighton will continue with the £100 million valuation.  

I don't know if all this is true mind, it all seems a bit dodgy especially to the club who Brighton owe a sell on fee to.  Maybe the 2 transfers are both agreed already, but are staggered to look less sketchy?

As has been pointed out numerous times, TB is much less involved now. It's Winstanley and Stewart, and, in the Sanchez case, GK coach Roberts who coached Sanchez at Brighton.

Amazing seeing the usual agendas over Todd in here, also someone claiming this lad is 3rd choice for Brighton, utterly ridiculous. He seemingly fell out with De Zerbi towards the end of the season and was dropped -

De Zerbi comes across as a right prick at times so I wouldnt read too much into that.

We need a 2nd choice keeper, £25m isnt huge money and if the rumour about his fee supplementing the Caicedo one is true then its even less, though if true its also a c**ts trick by Brighton to save a few quid and con much smaller club out of some much needed money, though somehow that will be our fault and not cuddly wuddly ickle Brighton.

Bit galling that after £100m spent and about 57 different transactions with Brighton, they've ended up with Billy Gilmour and Arsenal ended up with their good player.

He was dropped earlier in the season. As I posted elsewhere, DZ wanted to play out from the back and decided Sanchez wasn't good enough with his feet. That's when the relationship unravelled.

It's true

Apparently Todd was a rocker back in the day and and beat the living sh*t out of some mods on Brighton beach.  He's also obsessed with the Queen album Sheer Heart Attack for some reason.  He's got all the money in the world but nothing excites him anymore, so now he wants to relive his youth and kick some more Brighton ass!

If we spent 70 odd million on Kepa then £25 million for his competition doesn’t seem a large fee.

And Sanchez is better.

If we priced Kepa at £25 million I’d be surprised if any EPL club came in for him.

Sanchez has had lots of interest from rival clubs at the same price.

Kepa’s wage obviously has a bearing but he’s not anywhere near the quality we have needed. He’s up there with Lukaku in my eyes as our biggest waste of money.

The burden of proof is on the one you here!

Two seasons ago Sanchez was a really good keeper.  Last year he wasn't so good.  I don't like doing business with Brighton, but I think this transfer will work out.

Sanchez main weakness is his ability on 1on1s as he has pretty poor timing when it comes to rushing out. Distribution is fine, gathering crosses and corners is fine, shot stopping on the line is excellent. IMHO De Zerbi saying that Steele fits his style better was just bollocks - I just don't think De Zerbi liked Sanchez and I don't think Sanchez was too happy without Ben Roberts at the club. Sanchez's metrics are pretty poor if you compare him to other keepers.

£20m +£5m for their now 3rd choice out of favour keeper, who has fallen out with the manager. Only us even bidding for him too, and there is a chance he wont even be 1st choice here either. 

Absolutely outrageous. Mendy an actual champions league winner has been sold to Saudi the supposed money league for less! 

Must be over double his value. 

Sanchez is a decent keeper, in some areas he is better than Kepa, in some there usnt much in it. Personal preference is always a taller keeper, so at 6ft 5in I am happy with that. 

Just struggling to comprehend why we are paying so much for Sanchez, while also spending big money for players just to loan out, whilst at the same time we are struggling to find an agreement for Caicedo. 

If Sanchez ends up barely playing as a number 2, we shouldve just loaned in someone like Navas, and gave Brighton £100m for Caicedo weeks ago.

He is 3rd choice though, he lost his place to Steele, spat his dummy out about it and hasnt played much since. Now brighton have signed a new number 1. 

Obviously his level is not that of a 3rd choice keeper, but we are paying absolutely top money, for an unwanted player. Hopefully there is a some link to the Caicedo deal, otherwise that is a poor price imo.
