September 4, 20232 yr Having watched a re-run of the loss to Forest, I am disturbed that Sanchez was poor in several areas. Distribution was woeful, Shot stopping was very poor, he was far too slow going down for forest's goal and it looks to me as though the defence do not have much faith in him at dead balls and for crosses. They spend a lot of time conversing with him. We basically bought Brighton's THIRD choice keeper, paid £25million, let Kepa go and undoubtedly made our team weaker and the defensive situation worse. I just hope that Djorje Petrovic is an improvement, as I really cannot see Sanchez keeping his place for long on current form.
September 4, 20232 yr Was he really that poor or are we nitpicking? I didn't notice anything other than that brain fart of a throw that hit our defender.

Made sense as a backup to Kepa in the short term if we were planning to keep Kepa around. But not as a replacement. Petrovic is unproven and I doubt will be given starts in the Premier League this season unless Sanchez gets injured or suspended. Would love to know who thought this move was a good idea.

Looked very very slow getting down to try and attempt to save the goal. The attacker was basically rolling the ball into the back of the net. No power behind the shot at all.
September 4, 20232 yr 28 minutes ago, coombsie said: Why precisely is that ?? Because he wanted to leave so they replaced him in advance, and the reason he wanted to leave is because after months of patiently waiting for another chance came back in against us and United was excellent yet was still dropped after that, and still not given another shot after Jason Steele let Everton score 15% of their season tally in 90 minutes.
September 4, 20232 yr Anyone else find it odd at the top we seem to think so little of finding quality in goal or as our striker? Such key positions yet we were are happy to take punts on the unknown but spend huge sums for Enzo and Caicedo. Why them and not huge sums on a Oshiman or Magiain? Top level midfield with bottom half of the table quality forwards and keeper? Makes no sense.
September 4, 20232 yr I mean Mendy looked the deal then he went to AFCON and came back a completely different GK.

The Daily Mirror should give you a gig examining photos of Harry and Meghan to determine whether it's (a) a monumental rift; (b) a redeclaration of their love for each other; or (c) indigestion.

So far they have invested in youth keepers not deemed good enough for a decent loan club, a rotation keeper promoted to number 1 who, imo, is inferior to a flawed Kepa, and a punt on some random keeper from the MLS. On top of that it youth players to loan or stay in the shadows up top, one main striker signing who is very raw, while spending the biggest sums on a back up left back and deep sitting midfielders. If you cannot score open goals and your keeper cannot make simple saves it does not matter how amazing your midfield or defence is, you lose or draw more than you win as the opponent just needs one chance to score with a half decent shot, while we fluff out 21 shots in to just 2 simple saves.
September 17, 20232 yr How about we give Sanchez some credit? He was fantastic. It seems cool to pile on him (even though he hasn't been directly at fault for any goals), how about some praise for once? Not a single comment yet. Not surprised.
September 18, 20232 yr Embarrassing that we need a keeper to keep us in the game against Bournemouth of all teams.

September 24, 20232 yr Had my doubts after the first couple of games but he's proven me wrong, he is easily our best signing this summer so far.
September 25, 20232 yr Made a great save on that volley. I like how commanding he is in the box, not afraid to come far from goal to claim the ball.
