Sanchez is pretty standard yet most of us prefer him to Kepa (Mendy for that 1 season was arguably the best gk in the world so I give him a pass) To be fair though, much like the top striker market, the top goalkeeper market is quite limited. Nobody stands out that I'd want at Chelsea, who would you have in mind? A lot of people were liking the idea of Onana and so far Sanchez looks a much better buy.
October 21, 20232 yr Bottler! The impact his actions will have on our season can't be understated. I'm fuming. He's literally given a opposition player the ball in prime position in just about every single game so far this season. Joke of a goalkeeper.

Those mistakes today were criminal
October 21, 20232 yr Not seen such a mentally fragile performance since Morata. Any time he was asked to get involved today, he looked scared.

October 21, 20232 yr He has his strengths, but ball at his feet is not one of them. Needs to calm down a little, but mistakes only add to the nerves. Maybe Petrovic does get a run out, but I think its clear an upgrade is needed.
October 21, 20232 yr What do we do with guy? Seriously? Can he realistically remove this lazy distribution from his game?

He is good at everything else he needs to do but game after game he gives the ball away in front of our goal, and this time we got punished. Does Petrovic get his chance or do we change instructions to not let Sanchez kick the ball anything more than a short pass to a deep defender or go long?
October 21, 20232 yr I know ball playing goalkeepers are the big thing today, but how many of them are actually good at it but can also be counted on to not make big errors in the majority of games? United were begging for it, so they replaced De Gea with Onana, but the guy doesn't even look like he can make saves. Arsenal were begging for it, but Raya has looked sh*t. We were begging for it, we replaced Courtois with Kepa and now have replaced Kepa and Mendy with Sanchez. It's like the whole position has changed because a total of 3 of them in the last decade have been world class at passing out of the back without having the other problems that come along with it. Neuer, Ederson and Alisson are the anomaly, the chances of finding goalkeepers like this is tougher than finding a world class player of any other position. October 21, 20232 yr I hate this ball playing keeper thing, just be a saving keeper, let the others pass the f**king thing.
October 21, 20232 yr He’s had warnings in other matches and didn’t get punished today he’s got punished
October 21, 20232 yr It’s been coming for a while, it had to be against a team that had already lost the points. We need an upgrade, but remove this distribution bullsh*t from his game and I’ll be happy to play him this season until we find an available upgrade in the summer. I think he’s alright commanding the box and definitely don’t want Kepa back.
October 21, 20232 yr 100% cost us the game. Shame because most games this season I thought he was solid but no defending today's performance.
October 21, 20232 yr Lots on the kick. Was not his worst one, the one to Nunez was in a much better place imo. Not so much that he should have narrowed Trossards angle and made that goal near impossible. Had a chance to redeem himself there and he blew it.
October 21, 20232 yr He's been messing up possession with no real pressure on him every week, should have caught up with us a few times now. In a way where he had very little to do, to gift wrap points to Arsenal was just unacceptable. Usually after an error like that the GK should be dropped, but what other options do we have? Very little, haven't seen the other GKs play this season.

I mean come on, it's been years now. Arsenal can be brilliant, useless or somewhere in between and they win cups, gets wins or draws against us no matter how well we play against them as we are to them what Spurs were to us for decades.

I was saying only a monumental error or red card will cost us this win. We are playing too well for Arsenal to come back through their own quality and just handed them a point.

Was just Sanchezs turn to be the villain rather than Anthony Taylor, or Jorginho, lady luck, or whoever else.
October 22, 20232 yr Give Petrovic a chance. Sanchez is not good enough on the ball for modern football. This is the reason Brighton dropped him. I know that people will say they hate the idea of ball playing keepers and I kind of agree as well but it's just not going to happen. I also noticed how scared Sanchez looked even before the error. He was not good at all at commanding the box today.
