December 7, 20232 yr This guy would be considered world class in 2008. He's actually a very good shot stopper and can win you games on saves. His distribution however is absolutely terrible. Even when he should just kick it out he passes it to the opposition. I really hate that we do not play to his strengths.

Mind boggling. He reminds me a bit of Ed De Goey. Very good in most aspects of a keeper. Terrible with his passing though. If your keeper cannot pass the ball well have him keep it simple, very short or very long and straight.
December 8, 20232 yr Poch's team was always going to play from the back, so it's pretty stupid to sign a GK who couldn't pass. If we are going to play long punt football, at least get a big target man, we got no chance with Jackson, Sterling etc fighting aerial battles. I wonder who we will target from Brighton next time, that Gilmore guy doesn't look too bad 😁 Mitoma be a wet dream, probably will break the world record to snatch him up.
December 10, 20232 yr Sounds like Sanchez picked up his knock against United and it bothered him today. Fingers crossed he will be back for next weekend. If not, I wish Petrovic the best. Will be tough to come as goalkeeper when we are on such a poor run. Baptism of fire.
February 19, 20242 yr Petrovic was surrounded by City players on set plays. Anyone else get the feeling, if available, poch starts Sanchez for the final?

I wouldn't change the make up of this team, it's developing and needs stability along the back line. As good at shot stopping as Sanchez is, he is good at this, keepers need to command their area, Petrovic hasn't really made any errors leading to goals. Like many breaking into or playing in this side, they need confidence and belief. Stick with the current formula.

Did you want him to start kicking them to the curve? This is more on the defensive setup than on the goalie. And stop mentioning Sanchez, you're scaring me!

February 21, 20242 yr I’d be amazed if Sanchez doesn’t start in the final. Rumour was that he was due to start against City so if available I’d expect him to play against Liverpool. I don’t agree with it but I reckon that’s what will happen

Going from no match for months to first choice in a final would be such a big leao, it would have me questioning Pochettino's sanity.
February 21, 20242 yr Sanchez needs to be moved on in the summer. That's where we are with our new number 2. I see this thread and feel ashamed he might get back in the starting 11.

If that was the case then I’d expect him to play on Sunday if he is over the issue that stopped him playing against City.

February 21, 20242 yr Guys Sanchez is starting the final, so is Sterling. They will decide the final so best to accept it so you dont feel so angry on the day. Robert is getting his gloves on ready:
February 22, 20242 yr We had fair share of sh1t moments during his absence, but at no time I felt the team missed him. Petrovic is no world class, but he's the kind of stable , sound GK a team could depend on.

Its plain to see the defenders all feel much more comfortable with Petrovic in goal than Sanchez, he is a calming influence on them, you can see they have no worries about passing him the ball, making space for a pass from him. Compared to when Sanchez was in, they were nervous passing to him or getting it from him, hes a liability.

So yeah, moving him on is going to be way easier said than done. This is where the "decade" long contract comes back to bite us in the arse.
February 22, 20242 yr This long term philosophy once again proving to be a stupid f**king idea. Like most of the money making ideas these w**kers have BOUGHT to the table.
