Burnley v Chelsea (PL) Sat 7th Oct 23 15:00 GMT

Featured Replies

Burnley have let in a combined 12 goals in the their 4 home league games, scoring twice in those games (both against Spurs).

They will be playing their rearranged game tomorrow at Luton.

Their keeper Trafford is on loan from City, was the England youth keeper that saved the late pen in the Euros victory.

Sander Berge will be a danger making runs from midfield.

They will likely have a decent amount of possession. Fulham had more than us in our game today bit we did more with what we had.

See what the injury news heading in to this one. I don't think Broja will be ready for 2 starts in 5 days.

I've watched a few bits and pieces of Burnley games this season. They play much better football under Kompany than they did in the old days under Dyche. They have a few dangerous players for sure. The winger Koleosho looks quite handy. That being said we ought to create a few chances against them. Once again the key will be taking the chances that come our way. Hopefully we can continue to build on the last 2 games.

Just because of Burnley's goals tally doesn't mean anything to me...this will be hard...these games are......we beat Fulham but we are lacking at team solidarity in half of games we play....too open to attacks from oppos....good teams can score three past us any match....hopefully Chelsea can tighten up at the back and scrape three points....

They bought Trafford this summer from City. He was on loan at Bolton last season.

Defo a bonus that they have the game today against Luton as it means we have extra day's rest. They will have 3 games in the space of 7 days.

We just have to be win this. Bar any red cards, I think we will win this and do something for the first time this season... win 2 on the bounce.

A good chance to play four at the back and play Mudryck, Jackson, Sterling and Palmer with hopefully Enzo and Caicedo or Conor sitting. But of course we wont do that.

I  found the ultra defensive approach after half time in the Fulham game fully underwhelming.

We should not underestimate the opponent, but we need to come in a proper mindset that we have to continue our form going.

I'd play the same lineup that against Fulham.

If Caicedo is not available, then I'd play with Lasley.

Broja deserves to get another run, same as Palmer.

Our victory against Fulham gave me more hunger towards the next games, let's hope the boys will do the job! COME ON CHELS!!

Agree no tinkering please. Burnley will now be like us buoyed by the taste of victory. Fingers crossed mudrick is fit can kick on from a good night out at Foolham. Won’t be an amble in the park as they’ll be right up for a scrap but confident form can continue up north eeh by gum and all that pie eating stuff aside.

I would play the same team if no injury or fitness issues, which could mean Silva out, surely we could find a fit defender. No easy game, but against promoted team we have to aiming for a win. Unlike other teams at the bottom, Burnley actually plays football, which is good news for us.

They will certainly be lifted by how they beat Luton.

No matter how we do it we have to win this and make it 3 on the spin. If we don't it is a long international break going in to hard run on shattered confidence.

A win here and at best we can enter the international break at 9th. (4-7 points away from Top 5. )

Still not ideal but far better than what's been made out.  Our run of tough fixtures but it may be a blessing in disguise given that teams will be open to attack us vs sit back. Not to mention we will have James, Badiashile, and Carney back.

We really need to start beating sides in the Top 6 not named Spurs.

We've conceded 6 goals in 6 matches ,no one has scored 3 past us this season .

Bar the Chilwell news, good news is that Mudryk was back on the grass today. Broja was training and doing gym work with the rest of the boys. Caicedo not seen in the pics but Evening Standard have said that he should be fit for the weekend, so hopefully it is just more recovery for him and he joins the group tomorrow. At least no long term injury to any other players for now anyway.

Hopefully we carry on with winning ways. However you never know. No easy fixtures in the Prem and especially with this young and untried side.

We should be able to really attack them and I think counter attacks is the deadliest thing we can offer.

Let them have the ball and counter. That is how we won last two games. Don't worry about 60% of possession. I prefer winning.

Jackson is able to start but we could also try Broja and Jackson start together.

Callagher, Caicedo and Enzo in midfield.

I'd go with Jackson from the start for this, Broja looked like he was pushed to the very limit against Fulham in terms of playing time. Would be good to make sure he is recovered fully and maybe look to give him half an hour or so. Other than that, I would keep it the same as against Fulham if we can.

Great to hear all are training but I suspect Caicedo is carrying a knee strain and likely won’t play 90 minutes. Just my hunch.
I hope carney can get 30 minutes in place of Conor and certainly Jackson to start. In my team Enzo would be deeper, Palmer would play 10 and Sterling would be right wing. At 60 minutes it’s Maatsen for Silva with Colwill moving inside, carney for Palmer, Lesley for Caicedo, madueke for Sterling and Broja for Jackson. Get all the subs done at once. 🙂
