Poch In or Out? The Mega-thread Merged

Featured Replies

Sacked, and wish I could vote more than once.  There are much bigger issues at the club, and I can't think of a single area that is performing to an acceptable standard.

Saying that, I barely watch a Poch Chelsea and am numb to it all.  It starts there for me - we need a change for so many reasons.  History suggests we won't get the selection right, but it can't be much worse (said the same with Potter mind you!).

Certainly at the very least I would be expecting to see a much better performance in the next 2 games after the humbling at Arsenal. Whether that is enough for us to get some positive results out of the games remains to be seen. If we don't then any chances of a European spot will definitely be over.

Yes. I think we probably get beat tomorrow night and then remaining games look daunting for us in our current form. Currently I am not sure where I see a win coming from. I can only really see Brighton and Bournemouth that might be on the beach but surely we will be as well by then.

As bad as things are there is a risk we go like Leeds if we keep chopping and changing managers as that money can no longer be spent on the team.

It is not on Poch that Jackson can't take his chances or Enzo can't hit the target.

You can on the new poll from the other day, no problem!

Can you make a new poll every day so I can vote "out" in each one please.

Well yes, yes it is, hes coaching and picking them. Who elses fault is it?

I thought Liverpool were going for Amorium but seems they are going for Slot. Apparently the board like Amorium so it will be interesting to see if they get rid of Poch.

For me, Poch isn’t a bad manager. The circumstances he has faced have made it difficult. I do think he could have done more to engage with the fans though. He seems embarrassed by the spurs connection.

He said tactics aren’t important in a interview and it actually shows with how we play.

Every club now play out from the back and have good patterns of play, he is stuck in 2014 and PL football is in 2024.

I think at the moment his position is untenable unless he gets us top 6, which may make some of us to rethink.
the only think that makes me wonder is the amount of injuries we have had.
James Fofana Colwil Chilwell Chuck Nkunku have been big misses.

we have also gone large parts of the season with Gusto, Sterling, Madueke and Cucurella and Enzo out. So make of it what you will but the bottom line is that no club can deal with so many injuries.

i see a lot of these so called pundits going after Chelsea but look at what happened to NC when they had a period of injuries ..

our number one priority should be to fix this and get a striker.

I wonder had the poll been put on after the Everton game, it would have been different than adding it after the Arsenal game? I noticed that with the last one!

Maybe we should do one a week!

Maybe do a poll to ask if we should do a weekly poll on this?

Like i've always said, if he gets Europa he deserves another season. Just need to finish 6th apparently, regardless of what happens in the FA Cup. We have the easiest schedule compared to United, West Ham and Newcastle.

The worry, as its always been, is getting a consistent run of wins.

For me it strictly depends on whether we can get a better replacement in the summer, if all we have available are Thomas Frank and De Zerbi, I would rather give it to Poch for another season.

I can't see us ironing out the mistakes in this team next season under Pochettino, but I'm not for replacing him with managers who have really big questions by their name, it's just too much risk to take.

I do agree Victor, although if we do make the move there will inevitably be a gamble element to it.

  • An elite manager on the decline, or available due to sacking may be questioned. Conte, Tuchel, Mourinho etc.
  • A highly successful up and coming manager would surely stick or step up. Why step backwards?  Alonso.
  • Winners from weaker leagues and fresher names  doing well would be classed a gamble. Amorim, Motta, Michel
  • Media hyped managers will probably leave us all meh. De Zerbi, Frank, Howe.

I would also imagine like any industry we are all in, we often find its a small old market and word gets around. I'll say this, and I'm not advocating this or making any calls about style and tactics, but Luis Enrique turned up for his interview with a full PowerPoint presentation and dossier on exactly how he'd get us up and running and stable for the future. We flipped him off and went for the unemployed, won nothing, Poch instead. Granted the wheels might be coming off now but Enrique is navigating a CL semi final whilst we hoping for a collapse of the two above so we can hopefully nick 6th.

I bet in all of our spheres there are companies that we would say wouldn't work there for all the tea in China. Maybe we also need to consider who would accept Chipperfield FC, is all I'm saying.
