Seems like they're taking Mudryk on loan too so they get to put in all the work getting him back to match sharpness and taking on all the risk to see if there's still any potential with him.

Went on the Spurs forum and the meltdown alone makes this transfer window a complete success!

If you would have told me two months ago what do I think it would happen if we'd propose to Spurs to pay us for Tosin and take Mudryk on loan, I would have told you they would probably call the FBI and NATO and ask for a restraining order on everybody associated with Chelsea Football Club.

But it's actually Spurs asking for these two. You just can't make this up.

My dad did something like that in the 60's when he traded up from an Morris 1100 to an Austin 1300.

Next up for Spurs is a blockbuster move on deadline day - Jadon Sancho on a free.

No way any football people have signed off on it as a standalone deal, without this just being how Mudryk loan gets done, which is the only way it becomes logical on their part. Absolute madness either way.

Someone mentioned this in another thread, but it’s hard to believe Alonso’s influence alone is responsible for undoing four years of errors in a matter of weeks. There has to be more at play behind the scenes.

A combination of things. They have obviously had a rethink. They had to. Even they could see the results of the errors of their ways. Enter at the same time a manager who actually has a clue about quality football. A good marriage.

It wouldn’t surprise me if the club tries to quietly roll out a “restructure” narrative once the dust settles. It's like night and day vs. the past 4 summers.

I'm half expecting an announcement of "new duties" for at least a couple of the sporting director department ...

They've done a good job at getting rid of the dross they signed, but the fact they signed them in the first place surely now has to have some accountability, especially given the cumulative multi-year impact on sporting achievement and commercial revenue.

Yeah, hopefully they'll call their demotions as transferring to new roles/duties. Like the Trump administration.😂

They should genuinely just stick to selling players.
