Playing out from the back is the tactic du jour. Everyone does it regardless of competence. We are not alone.

Therein lies the problem, lots of teams do not have the quality to do it successfully but do it anyway. It's hilarious when it's not my team.

Bookies have him at 10/1 to be the first manager to go this season.

Only managers with shorter odds are Howe and ETH, both at 8/1

I'd have Eddie Howe as our manager in a heartbeat.

Not a fan of "Marescaball" so far nor his player choices. A few others have voiced the opinions that he is a "yes man" and apologist for the owners. I think there is something in that based on some of his press conferences.

He's basically Potter 2.0, the owners making the same mistake really shows their poor judgement.

How do you know? 0 meaningful matches for us under his belt.

Making quick judgements like this is like you are being Roman fanboy 2.0. Shows really bad judgement on where we are as a club with new owners.

So if we move on 10-12 players like it is planned we don't have the biggest squad.

We've got 17 days to move 12 players. That's an average of 0.71 players a day, starting from now.

Considering it's taken us nearly 2 weeks to move Gallagher I find it highly unbelievable we will be able to sell nearly a player a day from now until the end of the window without getting our pants pulled down.

Probably worth bearing in mind that many of these potential loans/sales have probably been worked on for weeks so things might well fall into place even though the timeframes now look tight ... but then again ... 🙂

Which players and where are the buyers?

Off my head and working with Transfermarkt, I would say Kepa, Chalobah, Humphreys, Casadei, Lukaku, Chukwuemeka, Fofana, Broja, potentially Chilwell, potentially one of Sterling/Madueke.

Would be surprised if they manage to sell more than 5, and I don’t expect any bids to come in till the last week of the window

You'll be surprised how desperate clubs get on deadline day.

If they buy 20 players I think they have a plan for those 10 needed to be sold. Hopefully.

The trust in the directors is at all time low atm among fans. But I still trust they want to make money with the club so it would be extremely counter-productive to f**k things up with all these player buys.

I trust money people to take care of money. That makes me believe we are doing things well in this area.

I don't really know where to put this comment but seeing this has reminded me of the international loans limit.

We are allowed 6 I believe as it was recently reduced. I also believe those under 21 have to be club trained too for it not to count towards the 6 which is why we had to cancel Moreira's loan before we could send out Santos.

We have already taken up 2 spots with Santos and this Argentina CB we signed that's staying at Boca. We still have the likes of Kepa, Lukaku, Casesdi, Angelo, Washington, Guiu, Soloina, Moreira, Lesley, Petrovic, Wiley, the Belgium GK who's name I forgot and Kellyman. Not forgetting you also have the other academy lads like Anjorn, Geroge,  Humpreys, Vale, Tauriaine, etc to go. If I've forgotten anyone I apologise.

From that list alone, 4 spots are most likely gone already in Santos, Argentina CB guy, Soloina and the Belgium GK guy. No one is for Lukaku or Kepa so there's most likely another 2 gone which takes us up to 6.

The problem here is some of these highly rated expensive signings are gonna have to put in a shift in the championship which isn't ideal and below their level if they really are as good as expected.

Just to update everyone, we now have 2 foreign loan spaces available after Wiley joined Strasbourg. We still have Kepa, Lukaku, Casedi, Angelo, Guiu, Lesley, Petrovic, Mike, Kellyman and Carney to go off the top of my head. Not to mention other actual academy players such as George, Anjorn, etc.

I personally can't wait to see Washington in the championship getting bullied.

Seriously a win/win scenario if things are to be believed. Ornstein said the sporting directors won't truly be judged until after this summer transfer window. Either this club does well and meets expectations or these halfwits are sacked.

Still a lose in there though, because if the halfwits are sacked then one of the following 2 happen;

- We hire replacements just as awful at their job, if not worse and the circus continues.

- We hire suitable replacements, but the agressive nature of the project that has taken place till this point is going to mean a shift in direction will take years to even begin to show rewards.

This whole strategy of hoarding and signing young players began with the sporting directors though.

Kellyman and Wellington to play in PL2, surely we'd be the first youth team to have a £40m attacking partnership?

Oh, I know. But it seems that the strategy has been dependant on selling players for profit in future windows, to cover our amortisation commitments each year. Getting rid of the sporting directors wont get rid of the commitment to the strategy immediately. Anyone who comes in will have to navigate that for multiple years before they can begin to shift our direction.
