Brendan Rodgers left Celtic 🤔 I haven't kept up with him having acquired a bit of an aversion (you know: the teeth, Liverpool...), but at least he has a (by now distant) Chelsea background and ample top level experience. A candidate if we overlook the teeth?

Sorry Valerie, under no circumstances can the teeth be overlooked.

I'd sooner have Phil Brown if we can prise him away from Peterborough Sports

I don't know what's worse: the teeth or the dilapidation.

£105,000 a week he's paid and he's bamboozled at the prospect of a team changing their game plan lmao.

God forbid he has to prepare for multiple eventualities and the team we're playing doesn't roll over with his death by 1000 passes.

Incredibly hairless fool.

Maresca watched Sunderland 9 times.......did it not cross his mind that their manager watched us 9 times too?

When Maresca tries to expose the weaknesses of other teams, he fails to address the weaknesses in his own coaching. He keeps saying they need to learn, but he's NOT learning.

This can't be a serious post - WTH?

Anyway moot point Maresca is staying a long time.

It can always be worst, you want Potter back?

Maybe we should aim a little higher next time we hire a manager.

#ClownsOut 🤡

Don't be silly @Scott , we never let our former managers have a second stint!

Oh wait... runforhills

The weakest manager I can remember at this club.

How can you possibly think that these players don’t have a discipline problem??

Yes, there are many problems at the club. But the one that can be, and has to be, dealt with first and foremost as an absolute priority, is the manager. Maresca is truly dreadful in literally everything he does. His tactics, his tinkering, his press conference bullsh*t comments. He lacks intelligence. He is stubborn and he views that as a positive trait. His man management and motivational skills are non-existent. I am certain, 100% certain he has lost the dressing room respect of a good number of the players, just as he has lost the respect and support of the vast majority of fans. I firmly believe if Graham Potter had had the time Maresca has had with the same squad, we would be better organised, more disciplined and harder to beat.

Get this joyless, bald fraud out NOW.

Hes so bad FFS like he’s f**king clueless.

As bad as it was at times you could see what Poch was trying to do even freaking Potter you could see what he was doing.

This guy he’s completely out of his depth and the way certain players are playing makes me question if they want to continue playing for him.

It's one thing for a new manager to lose the respect of a dressing-room filled with experienced pros

It's another thing entirely for a manager to lose the confidence and respect of a dressing room where even the oldest members are young enough to be his kids

He’s having the last laugh though the smug cant he’s on astronomical wages for his lack of ability only at our club does such a fraud hold sway

Ps. In balance he did win 2 minor 🏆 and get top 4 in first season so above does seem reactionary but consensus is we are truly awful to watch when it could perhaps be the exact opposite and still win

Maresca needs to start managing the game over 90 minutes. We are constantly a 45 minute team and only ever show up for one half. It’s not good enough. We just about got away it tonight because of how poor Wolves are but another team would have won the game in the second half

I was at the game tonight…and as a little bonus…I was sitting right above Winstanley and Stewart!

Bournemouth lost Kerkez, Huijsen and Zabarnyi and are second in the league.

Using an injury to Colwill to excuse the pitiful showing we see week in week out is beyond embarrassing. Stop excusing failure.

Failure, with less of a third of the season gone that sounds like hyperbole.

We are in the 1/4s of the league cup and in a good position to go further in the Champions league and still in the top half of the league.

Sure we have problems on the pitch yet it is hardly a crisis and there is still time to turn things around. If we are in the bottom four at Christmas I would be more inclined to agree we are heading for failure.

I do think he will sacked if we don't get to top four unless of course he wins a major cup.

No, where have you read that? We want the bloke to have the ability to adapt and change the tactical plan as the game changes. He hasn't got it. And I don't know where you got the idea that we want him to have ONE gameplan before the game.

What most of us want is for him to have a plan to break teams that sit back. If every team that plays us sits back, and they've been doing so since last season, why hasn't he got a plan to break those defences? He prepares every game as if it was going to be against a back four, but the bloke acknowledges that Sunderland, Forest, Wolves, etc change their game plan against us, why hasn't he anticipate it and prepare it for that? Is he just a one-trick pony?

Let's say you are manager of Chelsea.

You have 1 tactical session for Sunderland, what do you want to train?

Back 4 buster?

Back 5 buster?

Split the session into two which mean you cannot train specific

They would have had at least 4 and that's just after the A**x game. No need to do hyperspecific sessions for any opponent let alone Sunderland. The issues that caused the loss aren't unique to Sunderland, it is likely vs any team that sits back against us, back 5 or not

I am pretty sure they have training session vs low block in general however you have to be specific as you are preparing a gameplan vs Sunderland.

Now how detail your gameplan is depend on the manager and as we saw throughout the years fans love it when manager come up with specific gameplan. It feel like every player communicate and move telepathically and if you want detail gameplan you need to allocate more time for it and of course if the opp change their approach, those gameplan will go to the bin.

Talking about vs low block. We are not the only one who struggle vs low block.

There is no magic tactical solution vs low block as you have less space to operate and it is hard to get overload.

The easiest solution is to sign winger who is strong at 1v1 aka dribbler (better yet if you have one please don't sell him), get good crosser/passer (Cesc/KDB/Reece), load the box with player who is good in the box (st).

You can always take more risk by giving up the ball, add more rotation, or play more attacker (play estevao over Enzo or Cucu) but you need to asses the risk of doing this

I feel that we have a core of players developed enough to finally start pushing for the big things - James, Cucurella, Caicedo, Enzo, Palmer, Neto, Joao Pedro. And Lavia to some extent although he is still very young, but he is already an impressive footballer. Other youngsters like Estevao, Gittens, Garnacho and the rest cand produce high quality depth.

Still the elephant in the room must be addressed. The center back area and the goalkeeper will put this team on hold for years if the board do not understand once and for all that defence wins titles. No point in assembling a squad full of top talents if defence lets them down time and time again. Some attacking players will develop faster and start doing the things we are all waiting for, but it's all in vain if they do not get protected from the back.
