Newcastle's injuries are all in defence, particularly in the middle, so we'll no doubt pass it around amongst our centre backs for most of the game, rather than attack hard to try and exploit that.

So that means we will be playing keep ball all game faff around give it away and get caught on the break and lose.

It means high chance of Gusto at AM and Reece at DM with Pedro Neto at CF and George LW probably

I’m just fully anticipating Emegha to be sh*t and Queneda struggling in the Prem.

From what I have seen of Emegha, he isn't ready for a top Premier League team yet. He hasn't got the intensity in his game and his shooting needs a bit more power to it. Most Premier League goalkeepers will save the shots he is scoring in Ligue 1. Quenda is another raw talent that will need time.

Hopefully the board are seeing all this. Our directors are questioning whether he's good enough, yet the best club in the country for the past decade are eyeing him up.

Maybe. Just maybe, the owners can open their eyes and see where the root problem his.

Na, he will get backed by their rich (supportive) board, continue Pep's system, job done!

What Maresca has said makes sense now, acting from a position of strength.

Peps random comment about Maresca being world class now makes a lot of sense, his seal of approval for his replacement.

Yeah like we are going to pretend the slow football and inverting fullback nonsense wouldn't stop. Nor the heavily rotated squad every match week. Haaland will be isolated just as Lukaku was under Tuchel's control football.

Someone in another forum made a great point. I doubt Tixi would appoint Maresca had he still be at City.

ORNSTEIN BOMBAAAA

Search function on here does not work for me at all otherwise I could quote a post I made probably a year ago now but the overall point was that as much I dislike how Maresca sets us up, he would do quite well at a top club that's winning titles every year like a Bayern, etc.

At a team like City with better/more experienced players to work with I can see him succeeding for sure.

Difference is Pep has adapted his tactics recently. How City play now is considerably different to what it was 4/5 years ago, Maresca is still stuck in the mindset of having 1 tactic and if that doesn't work then bad luck.

Is missing the mark though Mod. While the directors are not good enough they are following orders.

Is the ownership model they are following, any replacement director needs to March to the same beat.

Is not the sporting directors who hired, and fired, several commercial people who cannot get us a front of shirt sponsor.

Is not the sporting directors who have failed to move on any stadium plans in near 4 years.

Is not the sporting directors who hired these idiot sporting directors, and then gave them lush new contracts this summer for doing poor work.

Much like any replacement for maresca will be another bozo any replacement for these directors will be another yes men that has to follon the same piss poor plan.

But Pep is allowed to change tactics when he wants, can Enzo? Remember, we still play part of Poch's inverted system (and even if it was Poch that wanted them playing like that). Too many questions, too few answers! This club is broken from the top!

Well said, 2 different systems. Not buying the press leak, this is Jorge Mendes’s handiwork.
