Following Our Nearest And Dearest Rivals 2024/25

He was arrested on suspicion of rape in 2022, since then he’s been playing for Arsenal until now that charges have been brought against him. It would have been very easy for Arsenal to keep him low key, not playing in the first team, but they knowingly decided to keep him as part of their first team. Disgraceful from the Arsenal Club, they should be named and shamed for keeping a player under investigation of rape in the first team.

Yep. I'm very much an innocent before proven guilty guy (for the most part) but this has been going on for so long. They didn't have to sack him, loan him out or anything like that. But when this investigation has been going on so long, the players, the staff, the fans, the entire club, they can't go on like normal and pretend nothing has happened and that he is for sure a victim. Maybe he is completely innocent, maybe he is a victim, but you have to treat these situations with respect and I don't think they have done that.

Exactly. When Mudryk was under suspicion we put him on ice until it was proven and that was from PEDs. This was an actual crime. Sick.

When we had CHO on r*pe allegations and the grooming by our then-scout debacle, the club shut everything down on that end until the allegations were cleared in case 1 and all the settlements were done behind closed doors in case 2.

Lost my respect for them as an institution

Amazing the soft approach the media are giving Arsenal over this. If he was our player its headline every 30 minutes on sky sports news and talks port, front page for the sun, star, mirror etc an double page spread in the times.

There's a high court ruling in place from 2022 that forbids the identification of a suspect in these sort of cases from being publicly named until he is charged.

The media were not allowed to identify him, neither could Arsenal . The Telegraph have a whole article about why they couldn't reveal that Partey was the player.

And now he's been charged isn't there a rule that stops all reporting and speculation about the case until the trial? " Sub Judice" or something ? Obviously it's not stopping all sorts of mad stuff and speculation on social media !!

Yes, it's now sub judice but these days social media has undermined the concept. Which provides the defence team, under particular circumstances, with an opportunity to argue, eg, denial of a fair trial.

I drive that road up and down multiple times a year and it isn't a very dangerous one. Tyre bursts can happen at any speed and whether at 120km/h (the speed limit) or at 200km/h, it is a dangerous thing to happen. We don't know at what speed they were going so it's best not to speculate.

There is no evidence that they were speeding, and any car can blow tyres.

You haven't got a clue what happened yet here you are conducting your own accident investigation..

There’s been no mention of speeding or reckless driving anywhere. Tire blew out while he was overtaking. sh*t can happen to anyone.

Authorities in Zamora have said they believe the driver was likely speeding at the time of the crash. Evidence reportedly points to the vehicle “significantly exceeding the speed limit for the highway"

Quelle surprise.

I repeat again, whilst it is always a tragedy when young children lose a parent, this would not have happened had Jota made better life choices and driven a sensible car - instead of being reckless. His family must be fuming with him....

So what? Can't you just be sorry for the loss of two young players without adding the "but..."? Aren't you able to show any empathy? Are you a psychopath?

Jesus Christ. What's wrong with you mate ?

Many things, including an annoying habit of replying to people when they argue for no reason. It also does my wifes head in.... I guess she should stop arguing with me, so I dont have to keep pointing out where she is wrong.

If I was speaking to her at this moment, I would once again, probably too smugly for my own good, be telling her "you may be angry dear, you may be disgusted, and you may hate my guts - but you know that I am right". I would sleep soundly in the spare room, she would refuse to make me coffee in the morning, it would all blow over until the next time i pissed her off...
