Neither Jackson or Nkunku are a box threat like Isak, which is what a lot of the balls coming in needed, so I can understand why he didn’t make a change. We just don’t have anyone with that profile.

Completely disagree. N'kunku's movement and positioning as a striker is miles better than Jackson's. Get enough balls in and around the box N'kunku would finish more than Jackson. And his interplay would be better too.

Sitting here with my potential son in law (Chelsea thank god) and said Sanchez will give up at least 2 chances per game. I’ve no faith in that lad at all, and what’s with the superman punching ??

For all our possession, how many chances did we create ? Wacko, done nothing, Noni was poor, Colwill and James at the back made me nervous.

Thought Neto and Caicedo in particular was outstanding. Palmer had some nice touches.

I hate saying this but Mudryk will never be good enough, he’s headless.

I think a point in the circumstances is fine, because honestly if there was another 10 minutes Utd would have scored from a mistake by us.

If we thought we were in for easy game should have just seen the emotion when they scored.. they went flat out against us. Plus they have quality too.. I M happy with a point.. Enzo should have buried that chance..

Been advocating all summer that’s the profile we desperately need.

Jackson ain’t it.

And people use Nkunku’s name like he’s some sort of alternative.. he isn’t solving the problems today.

Square pegs, round holes situation. Look at our crosses into the box to nobody, we have no box presence (and I rate Jackson btw) these Isak qualities Newcastle get to enjoy is missing from his game is all.

We were poor, they were sh*te.  Result was probably therefore about right.

Not sure we learned much.  Sanchez is a liability, Madueke looks out of his depth, Mudryk still sh*te and Fernandez isn't cut out for the English game.

So no, we learned nothing new.

+ Sancho’s ball retention is key.

Utterly peed off with that performance. Gave them too much credit again and played walking football for sixty minutes.

This Utd side has scored as many goals as Southampton and they now think they're prime Barcelona because they got a point against us.

Awful performance but got to try and take some positives from it… Jackson is another yellow closer to a suspension

You are actually making the case for us. I agree, N'kunku isn't a centre-forward, but then neither is Jackson and not having a proper, natural centre-forward is still, after all this time, a major problem for us.

Why bring on Mudryk in that situation?

Can we no longer move Palmer to the right for even 20 minutes? He was class there last season.

You have 14 minutes plus stoppages to win the game, why not take off Noni and Jackson, move Palmer right and being on Felix and Nkunku, two players who do well with tight spaces not a player who needs space in behind like Mudryk.

This and Newcastle have raised some serious questions on Maresca imo.

Yah... £105m and couldn't put that one in the net - dreadful.

Watched Spurs - Solanke - we need someone like him or Newcastle's Isak as other's have said - don't really think we're playing to our strengths - Neto should obviously start on rw and wtf Maresca keeps bringin on Enzo for is beyond me - Lavio is better - Jame's at rb and CuCu at lb ... and how neither Felix or Nkunku can not get 20 minutes with Jackson doing nothing...

Point is a point... seemed like that's what we were playing for in the end - another wasted opportunity

Be glad Garnacho had an off day and Sancho only gave them 1.

Judging it based on balls into the box today, and I can’t see it, that 2nd goal against Barrow maybe similar off the top of my head, but totally different pace to the game here.

And most importantly, given his qualities, do we really want to be converting Nkunku to a number 9, he’d be better off leaving the club really.

OT new 🐴 manager bounce players in red aware the new gaffer is watching the game in Portugal. Scrappy performance and when that plonker Sanchez gave away the very soft pen. It seemed as though our misfortune up there would continue until Moises’ blinder. I predicted 2-2 so I’m happy with the point from a visit to OT. Top 4 above Gooners who’d thought that back in August ? Not me when I went to the pre season match in San Jose.

We were not at our best, united were delighted to get something out of the game, we are up to 4th - quickly and quietly. It could be worse oh and the media are starting to take us seriously.

It’s strange how most can’t see how tactically this played out .. the fact that our CBs were unable to deal with Hollound in the first half and CC in the second half made it impossible for us.. our defence needs to keep working.

Neto too was good. Should be starting at  RW moving forward.

Madueke now needs to earn his spot back.

Agreed. Could we consider starting with both Nkunku and Jackson?

This was always going to be a tough game. United still feeling the bounce from Ten Hag leaving, and with new optimism. Likewise our record at OT has been awful the last decade or so. Given all that a draw feels like a reasonable result. Would have been great to win but a point is OK. Hope we can finally beat Arsenal next week.

Surely there has to come a point when Jackson gets some bench time too?
