December 30, 20241 yr Like someone said earlier, done by a bad decision in the 1st half but 2nd half was terrible. We peaked at 2nd in the table and players think they have enough talent to not match the oppositions work rate. I said at half time whether we’d have the maturity to rise above a soft penalty. Truly horrible day football wise.

Of course. We’re in a blip, it’s clear as day that we are massively improving. Just now, Jangz said: I hope maresca calls out the incompetent bunch He said the boys gave everything.

He certainly wasn't great but at the very least Nkunku, Madueke, Enzo, Colwill, and Tosin were all much worse. Agree, although I’d swap Tosin with Disasi in that list. I thought my 2-1 was safe in the Zeta thread, we gotta score we are one of the leagues top scorers. But no, clearly my optimism in our attackers is misplaced. 3 games and no goals for anyone not named Cole Palmer. Mud Brothers, banter FC is back, hello United and Spurs! Charity FC more like, if Spurs are Spursy, then Charity FC has defined us for the last 10 years.

I hope maresca calls out the incompetent bunch.. just keeps happening to us.. after the coote and clattenburg episodes everyone knows these fcks can be influenced .. I'm not sure the officials have been influenced to favour Ipswich this season at all. O

December 30, 20241 yr I can't believe I am saying this but aside from the defence, we need attacking reinforcement badly... If Palmer is not having a good game, all the rest looks like headless chickens.
December 30, 20241 yr An Everton stonewall penalty away from top at Christmas to never gonna make top 4 in a week. Only Chelsea eh?

I hope you’re right, but people said that about City after two or three poor results. Then it became 11 or 12 poor results. And I am really on the fence as to whether we were truly improving or not.
December 30, 20241 yr TBH I'm fuming with that 2nd half. We have Colwill wasting time on the floor at every opotunity and focusing on arguing with the ref. We was more happy to fight off the ball rather than fight for it. Worst performance of the season in that 2nd half. The thing that disappointed me the most is that they lacked desire compared to Ipswich.

Fresh players who have seen barely any and no minutes in the last game and lacking match sharpness. 1. No evidence of that at all. 2. No evidence of that at all. You see my view is from a modern game's perspective of football management, yours is just a make-believe fantasy; Fresh players started this match but you couldn't notice it, adding also fresher subs that were brought in as well, without changing the so called dynamic of the game. The players in question would have lacked match-sharpness during the previous match too so your theory of them being able to change the harder match vs Fulham is just a delusion on your part. Feel free to feel, about it however you want but you do not have any real analysis on your side. Edited December 30, 20241 yr by Gol15
December 30, 20241 yr Scoring for fun, chance to go top, top scorers and then 1 goal against Everton, Fulham and Ipswich and down to 4th
December 30, 20241 yr Listening to 5 Live and it’s interesting that all the chat this evening about what’s going wrong at United (nothing at all to say about Newcastle) and how absolutely wonderful it is that Ipswich finally won a home game (but absolutely nothing about how we’ve blown up) Funnily enough, whilst interviewing Delap, Kelly Cates voice popped up from the studio saying “do you want a line about Chelsea?” I wonder what the producers answer was. Find out soon. Edited December 30, 20241 yr by Snedger

Nuance is everything. It was very clear to me that he’s a quality striker. Almost every strike is on target. He’d score loads of goals for Chelsea and only 21.

The odd 10 mins Nkunku and Felix have been getting is harming their game, they both look rusty. Add to this, not using his compliment of subs may or may not have changed the course of those games but would have given some players a much needed rest. Our midfield looks gassed at 75 mins.
December 30, 20241 yr 5 Live did have a line on Chelsea. Maresca always said it was too early and the squad is very young. And his Leicester team fell away last year and had to find an answer to hold onto the top spot. That was it.

Like I already pointed out, they would have looked the same or worse vs a better team that is Fulham. We didn't have much of a midfield unless you mean that it was a vital and crucial mistake to not put Casadei at some point of the match but even so it was the starter of Fulham called Lukic that made a run after Cucurella went forward and he assisted the winning goal for them, I don't buy the narrative of the previous match at all. If Nkunku and J.Felix can't do anything against Ipswich, no amount of fitness or tinkering can save them.

December 30, 20241 yr Palmer tries something & it comes off he's brilliant, but if it doesn't he goes missing too many games....when he does he needs to be removed.... too many slow passes just like past few years, won't win games knocking it around ur own back line & then can't compete when opposition put pressure on, 2nd to every ball, no desire except to fkn lie down as if bulldozed...disaster & noni on one wing is a crash waiting to happen...just awful Did noni, knunku or Felix show why they can't be dropped....brutal effort show it, not one of them went by a defender & all noni wants do is shoot, try going by & getting into a shooting position....... We'll not even get top 4 on last 3 performances & hard run in.... we must be slowest 3 defenders in Prem lge.. Colwell, tosin & disaster.... slowest in thought & speed....🙄
December 30, 20241 yr Absolute diabolical football, easily our worse game since going back a bit into last season! I thought the Fulham game was bad enough! No player offered anything, other than maybe Sancho!

When plan A not working he has to have a plan B & C.....apart from few tweaks in games I don't see anything....teams have worked out gusto & cucu being inverted...they really can't play it cause they are not a threat to the opposition, like, and I hesitate to say it, TAA....he can shoot & play players in..... our 2 okay it sideways or back....we need different tactics throughout a game
December 30, 20241 yr If anything, we found out we're now definitely not title contenders. That hope lasted about a month haha. I hope they ship a couple of these players out in January, and strengthen us at the back.
