Felix and Nkunku need to be given the rope to either climb or hang themselves with. If they get a run, don't work hard, don't score, dont assist, with them facing the likes of Ipswich, Palace, Wolves etc then you won't get anyone saying he is mishandling them and should be using them more. They will have proved him right they are not good enough or simply do not care. Or it works out and out attack can deliver more than Palmer and occasional Jackson goal, and Palmer can then actually return to play his best position, on the right, and Gusto can look good again as an overlapping RB not a poor man's Cucu inverting. Far as Guiu goes 100% he is physically ready to start in the PL. He may not last the 90 but he can start and play most of the game 3 times a week. Will he score lots of goals? I don't know, but I don't think his finishing is a downgrade on Jackson. The issue though is that there is a fair amount of noise that Madueke's disciplinary issues have prevented him from being selected and similarly apparently Felix and Maresca may also have had a bit of a falling out.

December 30, 20241 yr Author Ipswich have yet to win at home in the league so far this season, eith their two wins coming at Wolves and Tootenham, both games 1-2 wins.
December 30, 20241 yr Author Here is an interesting stat. This is the 6th meeting between ourselves and Ipswich at Portman Road in the Premier League. In the 5 previous games there has been 1 loss for us and 4 draws, the last of which was in 2002, @Valerieown Carlo Cudicini saved a pen that day. So we have yet to win a PL game at their ground.

Huh, I (wrongly) remembered us doing the double over them the year they finished fifth. Turns out I just remembered us stuffing them at the Bridge. I also thought Kieron Dyer was part of that team; turns out he left for Newcastle before they got promoted and never made a Premier League appearance for Ipswich.
December 30, 20241 yr Should be somewhat of a formality if we are on it tonight. Ipswich have looked really, really poor every time i've watched them this season.

They've been in most games all season albeit they have lost most of them. We need to go at them early and grab a 2 goal lead at least or we are going to be facing the same old problems as we did against Brentford and Fulham and struggle to create anything.

December 30, 20241 yr Last time I remember watching Ipswich, Marcus Bent was playing. T’was a long time ago.

Yeah Newcastle were clinical there recently and picked up a 4 nill win. Edited December 30, 20241 yr by axman2526

December 30, 20241 yr It’s absolutely mental how a draw and a defeat has some fans absolutely sh*tting themselves. 1-4 Chelsea.

Don't think it was the Everton draw. Ok Foreat made it look a bad point now but they held both Arsenal and City away, not just us at Goodison, and our record there is awful. Good point imo. Is just how we lost to Fulham, how we surrendered and treated them like prime Barca that we could not cope with and need to cower in fear of. We've not been afraid of any opponent this season, or rather the team has not. Been respectful but not played any of them with fear. But our performance, for most of the game, vs Fulham was one of fear.
December 30, 20241 yr I think Ipswich have been in survival mode all season and it's not working 3-0 Chelsea would not be a surprise.

December 30, 20241 yr I remember David Webb starting for us in goals against Ipswich at Christmas in 1971. Also I can recall us getting walloped at Portman Road just before New Year in 1978. Of course that was before football was invented

Maybe Sconnie, I'm not sure now, but I have seen a few references to issues being mentioned on here. I don't do Instagram or Facebook so I don't normally hear or take any notice of rumours until they appear on here in numerous posts from people

It started to snow on the way back and there was 4 inches by the time I got home.
December 30, 20241 yr Arsenal played this lot recently and won by a single headed Havertz goal. Arsenal were at home as we are away I am hoping they will be less defensive. I think we will win though the last two matches were against defensive sides and we struggled.
