I don’t think it does. Even before the outburst the Saudi’s have been adamant that Liverpool aren’t getting the £200m offer they were given last Jan, him coming out to say he wants out also helps their case. I would be surprised if he goes for over £100m.

It doesn't really matter, end result is they get one of Ekitike/Isak/Wirtz for free and can easily burn money on the other two.

Securing Salah to a big new contract, and knowing that Saudi would do anything for him to join, was a big part of why they could spend so freely.

FA CUP

CHARLTON V CHELSEA

We've played them twice before in the FA Cup and won 3-0 on both occasions (1963 and 1995)

Over to you Maresca !

This drawer was made about an hour ago, and this is the only reference to it that I’ve seen on here; in the ‘other teams’ section.

Is that a reflection of how little interest there is in the FA Cup or is it simply that we weren’t drawn against Arsenal or Spurs or Liverpool?

Why are wolves holding such a high defensive line when their attack seems to consist of one man running straight down the middle? They inevitably lose it easily and give the opposition an easy run on goal.

Look forward to crashing out with a Tosin and Badiashille sh*t-show.

Think it is just modern football in general. Have always looked forward to the FA Cup 3rd round draw but I didn't even see it on the TV yesterday - only saw it on the internet.

All the bigger PL clubs will put out weakened teams in the early rounds. Such a shame that it isn't the competition it once was (except for supporters of clubs who haven't won anything for a long time like Palace last season).

True. I wasn't aware of the drawer taking place yesterday and just stumbled across it appearing in a live text feed on the BBC Sport website.

The bigger PL clubs will make heavy rotation, but the mid and lower PL teams are arguably even worse culprits for that. Nobody wants to risk PL survival in exchange for a cup run.

City and Arsenals evenings in the CL in stark contrast with ours. We might look close glancing at the table, but there is really a chasm between them and us.

Need to beat Pafos to ensure we get a play off spit. Top 8 is gone Now.

Best we can do is 16 points. It was enough last season but it will take flops amongst those above us.

The top headline on BBC Radio 6 was 'footballer plays for the club he plays for'. Is modern football really that dull that this Salah nonsense is the most interesting thing going on, or is this just 'civilisation of the spectacle'?

☹️ I was afraid of that.

It was too good to be true. Wolves are woeful this season.
