Cherki’s agent was hawking him around for a season and everyone was aware he had a very low release clause. Same summer he moved for £32m, we spent £55m on Gittens, and £40m on Garnacho. That is 1 league goal and 7 assists, and an insane talent.

Thing with Cherki was always his defensive side of the game. He's a bit like Juan Mata in that regard. Noticed City are playing with 5 midfielders to supplement that.

You invest in individual quality time and time again, you will reap the rewards. That is Man City in a nutshell.

Liverpool have jumped above us. If we can’t beat Villa, even Sunderland could go above us. Sixth after 18 games of your third season isn’t 1.5 billion well spent.

Did Brighton legitimately only turn up against us this season? They’ve been gash every time I’ve watched.

If your policy is to sell your best players every season then this is eventually where you'll end up ... I'm surprised it hasn't happened before this year to be honest !

I don't think we should sugar coat it LOL ... it's sixth after 18 games of your fourth season ... 😂

Well, there’s this sense that teams only turn up against us, such as Newcastle last week, but you have to question how much it is that teams go out of their way to put in extra effort against us, or whether we’re just too bloody easy to play against and regularly make average sides look good.

Wolves are so bad that even Florian Wirtz has scored LOL

Second half a different story. Wolves all over Liverpool, they were hanging on for dear life. Their game management is - well, it resembles ours.

Football may be going through it's driest era in terms of quality footballers. The football I have watched this season has been abysmal across Europe.

This push for turning footballers into supreme athletes with every part of their physical condition monitored to get them in peak human condition and coaches intent on playing a variation of Pep ball has done so much damage to this sport. Even a lot of League 1 and 2 teams try and play this way.

The only part of football I think this era has improved on is ball control, everything else has gone backwards. You can count on 1 hand how many truly world class strikers exist now.

It's destroyed the spontaneity in the game. Everything is controlled, everything is about possession, and the only risk taking is the ridiculous and unessessary playing out from the back.

Im hoping some brash upcoming manager trashes pep ball.... by doing exactly the opposite of whats being played. Turns out route one still destroys a pep team. Bring in Big Sam, Tony Pulis as set piece coach, Kevin Keegan and Harry Redknapp in as Directors of football and transfers and go at it like Newcastle in the 90's... Im all for it at this point. Hell Big Sam would be an improvement.

Wolves' historically terrible points return is one thing, but a greater cause for alarm is probably Matt "the mullet" Docker-T being your team's flair player

Shouldn't Barcelona be in the sh*t for this?

He doesn't actually confirm it. Find it unlikely anyway. If they didn't want him to score goals they would/could have played him off the bench. Not altogether dissimilar to Atletico playing Griezmann off the bench to manage his on-field time to avoid triggering a playing time clause in their agreement with Barca.
