The idea of having the ability to rotate any of the front three with Alvarez makes me giddy. We’d have the best attack in the world.

We can’t accept their bid yet as he can’t sign for them until deadline day as per the 45 day swap rule. We will reject their bid and “re-enter” negotiations to come up with the magical £65 million.

This charade will help if UEFA come sniffing about.

He is very much a big moments player, lacks consistency though and is often plagued with niggling injuries.

He has no future at Atletico Madrid and he needs to go this window. I agree we don’t need him as much as a defender or a goalkeeper, but then again, it’s an opportunity to sign an elite attacker for maybe a good price.

I'm consistently underwhelmed by Alvarez. Is he really elite? Reminds me a bit of how people were screaming how great Felix was, and I just never saw why. I'm probably wrong though, I just always fail to see whats so great about Alvarez.

Anyways, I actually has some mixed feelings about Jackson. Parts of his game I think is world class, especially his link up play and his turns with the ball, and I would like to see what Xabi could do with him. Like Enzo though, he's a player thats good, promises much, but the end product is probably not enough to deal their flaws.

I was really impressed with him whenever I watched Atletico last season, he makes their attack click. He is the sort of player that thrives playing in between lines and after watching our attacking trio against Fulham, I can’t think of an attacker more suited to our new system
