Very good performance under exceptionally challenging circumstances

Takeaways

Nearly held the first at nil nil

Caicedo was not missed

Calum the interim should be the permanent mamager or at least assistant to LR

That was a the best 2nd half performance in weeks - bc Marescas tactics were absent

That’s a good point away at the Etihad considering they’re unbeaten in weeks

Most of us on here should stick to our day jobs as nearly all got the pre match prediction part very wrong

Carefree again in the non stop Californian 🌧️!!

Yep, although Caicedo was missed until Santos came on to be fair.

Biggest positive tonight for me was that Maresca is gone. I can see the difference already, Santos getting decent amount of minutes, Delap looked more like himself, Hato and Badiashile didn’t look like complete clowns.

Thank god Maresca is gone.

Still, too many counter attacks break down because we are so scared to lose the ball. Old habits?

To be fair half of that was Fernández's 0.98xG chance right at the end.

Even more than that as per Sofascore LOL

0.41 for the one that Donnarumma saved, and 0.71 for the goal !

Stats eh !

Enzo was strong in tackle .. just one moment where he shirked away .. won a lot of duels.. santos when he came on was really strong.. Reece toyed with Dolku.. the guy is a monster RB.. hope now we can do a simple 4 at the back 3 in the mid and 3 attack no inverting bullsh*t .. some overlap etc..

Estevao wasn’t good today. Think he showed his age a bit today and his from the game at times.

It happens and he will learn from it, but I have no qualms with him being subbed off at half time.

Why do we pronounce his name " EsteVAL" ??

Or am I hard of hearing , eh? huh ? what ?

Would have been unfair had we not scored. A good second half and a shocking City to be fair. Was expecting them to be more fired up for this given the week we've had and their title challenge.

If indeed it is Rosenior taking over and sets the team up for a 3-4-3 with classic wing backs, I think it is either Caicedo and Santos in the pivot, with James as one of the three center backs, or Caicedo with James in the pivot. And Palmer and Enzo in behind the striker. Don't know if there are enough goals in this formation, though.

Nope. When he plays 4 at the back, one of them is the keeper

So why is he punished but not the other 10 players that were equally as bad if not worse? Neto gets to stay on no matter how sh*t he is. I'm sure Estevao would have been much more impactful in the 2nd half had he been allowed to stay on and one of the other were subbed off for once.

I do agree to an extent because Neto was poor today but I get why we did it, we needed some experienced heads on there in that second half and hooking our oldest attacker could have backfired

When has relying on Neto's performance to improve ever worked in the past? He's bang average. Constantly subbing out the young player when the older and more experienced players are playing as bad or worse is just cowardice.

Some good performances today...Reece, Santos, Gusto the names who stick out the most for me.

Delap played well today as well.

Neto and Pedro were poor, probably the worst I've seen Neto play.
