Liam Rosenior’s friend tells Chelsea to hire Oliver Glasner instead

Oliver Glasner was never in the frame after Maresca’s departure, despite the fact that his contract with Crystal Palace is set to expire at the end of the season.

Despite the club’s unwillingness to hire the FA Cup winner, Nigel Reo-Coker believes he would be a better person to hire than Rosenior, despite the fact he is close friends with the Strasbourg boss.

He told CBS Sports Golazo: ”Oliver Glasner is the best choice right now. Liam Rosenior is a great friend of mine, he’s doing great at Strasbourg, but I don’t think right now it would be the good or right opportunity for him.

That’s a good possibility, don’t forget that American sports franchises get moved hundreds or thousands of miles to new cities so if the new stadium ever gets built it could be further away from Stamford Bridge than Brentford or Palace. Given the sh1t show so far I wouldn’t be surprised if they moved the team closer to their private jets at Heathrow and called us CFC LHR.

I agree. If it goes badly for him, then it would likely set his young career back many years. If he was able to stay at Strasbourg for a couple more years and develop there he would likely be in a much better position to look at managerial positions in the Premier League. Frank is a good comparable. After leaving us last time he had to go down a division and start again.

He should take a look at Potter and how his career went after failing here. He was on an upward trajectory, well regarded by lots, then crashed immediately down to earth.

Look at all of the managers we've sacked since Clearlake came in tbf.

Tuchel - England job which you can argue is a good move, we'll see in the summer

Potter - Lives the high life for about 2 years before going to West Ham and got sacked in under a year

Lampard - Dropped down to the championship to rebuild his career

Poch - USA job, pretty sure he's just there for the cash

Maresca - He might get a decent job, I'd bet more money on United than City. Can only see it going the same was as all of their other managers

Good to see Joe Cole finally grow some balls about the ownership. It's also really good to see that they're getting criticism from every corner now. Managers aren't interested in working under them, the fans have turned against them, the pundits have turned against them, the media have turned against the and former players have turned against them.

It will be interesting to see how the team lines up today and the tactics employed. The interim Calum McFarlane is just there for the media so the Clearfake ‘wise men’ the 3 owners and 5 Sporting Directors would have basically made all of the 1st team match day decisions and young Calum is just their mouthpiece on the touch line and in the pre and post pressers.

LR is far less experienced than Maresca even so I would imagine he’ll be very malleable and they’ll influence his match day decisions more than any first team coach to date. It’s a win win for Egbhali if LR drags the club down the league with poor performances and there’s no Europe next year they can bin him after the season review and bring in another coach and keep us lot happy. If he gets the club into Europe by some miracle the gamble will have paid off and us lot will be happy, very if it’s UCL not so if it’s the Conf League .

And they will still act like the know what is best. That's the thing with these billionaires, they think that just because they are billionaires, it means they can never be wrong.

Only chance is if Boehly finds someone to buy out Clearlake or by some miracle Eghbali turns down the inexperience dial and we operate more like PSG.

I agree about Motta (he's not up for us) and I also agree with your last thought...but it's probably too late now
