Perhaps they don't fancy Hato any more !Others have said Barco has been playing midfield this season, so maybe he is making up the numbers in midfield ? (Essugo and Lavia out in perpetuity it seems)Doesn't change that this would be adding another vertically challenged and barely 10 stone player to an already relatively short team/squad, when they supposed said they wanted to add more physicality to the team. Probably also a sweetener for Rosenior joining - allowed to bring in his favourite player from Strasbourg ...Gusto is an odd one for me. I can't say I particularly rate him as a player and yet when he starts we tend to win the games (won 11 drawn 5 lost 1 this season). Bizarrely, given his form, with Reece James starting we are 6-6-6. So perhaps Gusto even at left back is needed as a continuation of the lucky charm ! All depends how Rosenior sees Reece I guess .. RB/CB/DM ...I'm with you but the last couple of games I've been more impressed with his play - perhaps because he plays so regularly he's getting better!

However, regardless of the backing and even from the league position that we are now in, it would be extremely challenging for any manager to make top 4 within the constraints that Rosenior may well find himself in.We are all hopeful that he unifies the team as well as the fanbase and brings the success that we all want but the odds are certainly against a manager with no top flight, high pressure experienceYou do know that Strasbourg are in the top flight right?
January 7Jan 7 If he puts the same effort into the team as he is putting into social media it'll be fantastic

January 7Jan 7 I think from his background and the chat on social media he could potentially develop / improve some of the underachieving players in the first team squad. That would be a plus. Edited January 7Jan 7 by OTL

I never wanted Bakayoko from the day we became interested because I knew he was crap. That didn't change because he put on a Chelsea shirt, I still thought he was crap, and he was. I don't buy into suddenly flip flopping just because they join the club. I wish them well and hope they prove me wrong, but to just suddenly switch up because they join the club doesn't make any sense.Personally, I don't think he will succeed here because the BlueCo project won't allow him to, and that comes before his qualifications as a coach at this level.

Some fans insisted he’d still come good based on what he did for Monaco, but that ignored how different the technical and tactical demands of the Premier League are.I'd say first touch is an absolutely mandatory skill in the PL because players get less time on the ball compared to other leagues.

Not that they think he’d fail. Not sure what that achieves only maybe gives them a chance to come back like some football messiah with I told you so when he does fail. No sh*t dont think anyone is gong to be surprised. We’re just in different ranges of optimism from slight to none.

Watched first 5 minutes then scooted thru the rest, but every time I stopped and watched, they were still maintaining the same energy. I would be more than happy if he can get us playing like that 👍
January 7Jan 7 I will back him until we reached the point where it’s clear Beavis and Butthead have done the same thing again. They should have given him a few more years in France.

Do you watch much Ligue 1 football (that's a genuine question, not being sarky). I have watched a fair bit of it and like many leagues throughout Europe the focus is very much on what players do with the ball and not so much what they do without it. There is a general lack of intensity and an allowance of space and movement that doesn't exist in our league (with the exception of west Ham possibly 😁)

January 7Jan 7 He really is pushing his luckRosenior asks Chelsea to sign Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jaeAccording to reports from Spain, £200,000-per-week Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae has emerged as the leading candidate to bolster Chelsea's defense. The 29-year-old, who José Mourinho tried to bring to Tottenham when he was manager of the north Londoners, now finds himself facing uncertainty surrounding his future.Kim has been in and out of the starting eleven this term, but made a solid comeback from injury in a 5-0 friendly win over Salzburg this week to round off Bayern's post-winter break preparations. Not happening Wages over 150kAge over 24
January 7Jan 7 Got one hell of a job ahead of him to get anything out of this random assortment of brain dead, inept players.
January 7Jan 7 1 win in 9 league games with a novice set to take charge. Thinking that top 4 is achievable is nothing short of delusional.
