Count them in.We are not finishing inside the top five. The sooner the board realizes this, the better. They should already be making phone calls and plan for this summer. James, Cucurella, Caicedo, Palmer, Estevao and Joao Pedro should be the only ones to be kept as starters next season, too. Rebuild around them and sell all the others while their value is still high.
March 22Mar 22 Maybe the players see the SD's and medical team as the people they answer to, the coach is more like someone they work alongside. The SD's give them their contracts and together with the medics allocate their full or partial role/ minutes in the team. The coach gives them word salad and plays them in positions and with tactics that they may not be in total agreement with. Some get the hump lose motivation and exhibit poor discipline. The coach has little powers or influence outside of a very narrow coaching role as its not that influential on results (Finklestein has said as much). The coach needs to keep his head down, if he speaks out hes gone. If he tows the line he stays. If results get to a level where the business is impaired they change the coach. All other structures currently stay the same. And so it continues..My hope that these clowns exhaust their supply of yes men and also revise their strategy bringing in both experienced players and an experienced manager who has a far greater level of input. So while im expecting Gary Oneill to arrive shortly im hoping he is the last of their people and that eventually the penny will drop. Patience is a virtue. Edited March 22Mar 22 by OTL
March 22Mar 22 If the message is that there’s no relationship between results and manager than sooner or later the owners need to realize is that accountability needs to be on the ones who actually built the f**king team.About to be a 3rd year with no Champions League football in 4 years.

We should not have any European football that’s not our aim we aim to win trophies. Let them suffer the financial consequences that’s the only way these clowns with learn.

They say so themselves via the managers target they must achieve Champions league. The player sales will start to crystallise during the next few windows, in terms of their values. How many will be sold for a premium and how many will be offloaded cheaply and how more importantly, does that compare to the forecasts of the SD clowns? When the inability to replenish the squad with credible players bites only then will the SD bullsh*t unravel. They cant all be fobbed off as duds, bad luck, injuries, market conditions changing, regulation changes (FFP). There must be some good business? or at least some accountability for the mess. All other structures currently stay the same. And so it continues..Absolutely. A manager in this setup is just another hired hand, in fact he's more disposable than, for example, a number of key players. They sacked Tuchel early in their first year, Potter lasted a few months, Lampard was just an interim to see out a season, Poch lasted a season and Maresca smartly jumped off the sinking ship to avoid going down with it. Now it's Rosenior who's probably the least qualified out of all the managers they've already gone through so why would players bother listening to whatever he's about to say.

March 22Mar 22 A manager needs total control over footballing matters including the ability to transfer list any player who’s not pulling their weight or are disruptive. Otherwise he has no power and or respect from the players. We are run wrong, simple as that.

We will likely rotate even more if that is even possible during the league programme.

Think we will start needing to sell to balance the books, with no genuine quality coming through. Best thing we can hope is some of these youngsters become world beaters miraculously, we have a decent manager come in next year - id get the guy at rangers who has now done wonders with two sh*t boards. And then hope they manage to sell us to an ownership who knows what theyre doing.

March 22Mar 22 The message I have from Chelsea is there's no imminent change on Liam Rosenior, and they still support him. This isn't a squad built for him, so there are some points to remember when it's time to judge him. They want to be in CL next season.(@FabrizioRomano) #CFC

Just means that onus will be placed on the academy to produce more young players that can simply be sold. It does mean that they cant keep washing money through the club.

They would need 17 points from their last 7 games to make it to 66 points (5 wins 2 draws, which doesn't seem likely). Every team in contention below us will need to win every game to make it to 66.

Certainly wasnt Maresca. Or Pochettino. Or Potter. Or Tuchel
March 22Mar 22 Too many of these hipster coaches these days.. sir Alex and Jose were anomalies.. most of the best coaches in the last few decades have been ex players of pedigree themselves .. think Pep, Zidane, Ancelotti, Flick, Conte, L. Enrique.. for all the data they have can’t see the simple math.. top level athlete pressure is different only coaches who have been their done that can understand..

March 22Mar 22 Even IF by some miracle we qualify for CL football, is LR the manager we want next season? We all know the answer. Apparently according to the Daily Fail. "None of Chelsea's squad have asked to leave the club in the summer despite their struggles on the field".
