Paul Merson saying that Chelsea should get Falcao from United over the summer.

:laugh2:

no thanks :P

We could use Lacazette though as second choice striker, second striker, or inverted right winger in 4-3-3.

no way would he be a second striker

You don't think he can be a second striker alongside Costa with these linkup stats (key passes, chances created, takeons)?

I could see Lacazette playing alot of positions in 4-2-3-1, or 4-3-3 when Costa is playing.

Real to make shock move for Blues benchwarmer?

John Obi Mikel was once rated so highly that Chelsea and Manchester United fought a bitter battle over the midfielder's future. Unfortunately for the Blues and Mikel, he never really fulfilled his potential, yet has become a solid squad option for Jose Mourinho.

That dependability is an enticing prospect for other clubs though, with Italian website Tuttomercatoweb reporting that none other than Real Madrid are interested in the 28-year-old's services.

It seems an odd move for a side that has built its transfer policy on signing Galacticos, especially given Mikel has made just 12 Premier League appearances this season. But Real have been lacking solidity in the middle after the sale of Xabi Alonso and injuries to key midfielders, and Mikel could offer Carlo Ancelotti a stable presence in front of his centre-backs.

That Pedro one looks quite tasty. He should be on the cheaper side, too, and allow for other options rather than chucking all the money at just one player.

Whatever happens, some very intriguing options available it seems.

Pogba?

Bale?

Reus?

Isco?

Pedro?

Depaye? (Looking very unlikely, though)

Would love Pedro here, Looks like he is leaving Barca at the end of the season and should be on the cheaper side, still young works hard and very talented definatly more realistic than Bale.

thing is, i don't think pedro is the pedro of 11/12 season where he was very dangerous on that wing, he's not as favoured any more and has shown signs of decline.

For me, i would love us to go in for griezmann. we should have gone in for him a couple seasons ago tbh, would have been perfect for our right side.

Pedro seems quite lightweight, I don't see where he'd play either as he's more of a Winger. Lw is Hazard's, on the Right is Cuadrado and Willian. Unless we're planning to move Willian to #10 in which case he would be fighting for a spot with Cuadrado. But as mentioned he hasn't been playing very much so I'm not sure if he is still the same player of a few seasons ago. From what I remember he was an awesome finisher an attribute of his that was quite underrated.

Some rumours about us paying Griezmanns release clause, but I'm guessing its just to improve his current contract with Atletico. I wouldn't mind us buying him though, we need a good striker backup, who can play a winger etc whenever Costa is fit.

Read somewhere that as per club policy and Jose favouring a small squad, we have a squad of 19 first team players supplemented with 5 youth players. I don't expect this to change much next season as it is quality over quantity, and Jose has stated several times that we have a one in-one out policy. I reckon this also goes hand in hand with the regulations on squad makeup regarding homegrown and club trained players.

I reckon this is a perfect policy as you wouldn't have unhappy players mouthing off to the press which is good for squad harmony, and if applied properly we would give our youth players some game time. Jose hasn't rotated our squad properly this season which is probably the reason for some lacklustre performances post Jan.

As things stand Cech and Drogba are most definitely leaving, which opens up 2 first team "squad" positions. If I was a betting man, I would say Filipe and or Mikel might leave for different reasons. The former because their is little chance of dislodging Azpi next season (personally I would rotate Azpi with Ivanovic on the right regularly), and the latter if he is serious about giving RLC game time. Assuming either/both leave it still doesn't improve on our first team, and I reckon we need another game changer to go with Hazard. For all Willian/Oscar's industry they are not match winners as we have found out post-Jan, and Cuadrado is an unknown quantity (the less said the better).

Personally, I would make 2 big moves in the summer. Take advantage of the upheaval at Dortmund and buy Reus for the RW, leaving Oscar and Willian to compete for the "10" role while Cuadrado finds his footing. Schnederlin would also slot in perfectly in the middle of the park if the need arises to move Fabregas to "10" and would count as homegrown. Those two moves will significantly upgrade our 1st 11, then buy two squad players; a GK and a LB if Filipe leaves whilst bringing in RLC and Bamford to replace Mikel and Drogba respectively.

Sounds good to me

That's the end of Di Maria and Falcao then.

Even with their financial power they surely must run afoul of FFP if they had Bale, Di Maria, Falcao, Rooney, Van Persie.

Not according to several papers who say they have the cash and funds to buy 4-5 top players plus Bale in the summer.

I think it's safe to say United won't be taking up the option to buy Falcao.

There's a strong rumour going round that RvP will be allowed to leave as well.

I can't see Di Maria leaving personally, only club that would be likely to stump up the required fee are PSG and they've apparently agreed terms with Juventus for Pogba which would suggest that he is their main target.

If anything signing Bale doesn't bode well for Mata who has been played mostly on the right.

Latest rumours saies we are hijacking Uniteds move for Gundogan and activating Griezmanns release clause at £43 mil. I wouldn't mind that happening to be honest. We could get Gundogan cheap, because of his contract ending soon. He hasn't had any big injurys for a year since he was out with compression of spinal.

I hope none of that happens, as we have plenty of our own young talent who are itching to play for us.

Who do we have playing Griezmans position? Or were you talking about Gundogan only
