What for?

Not sure, it's only a suggestion (so don't get your hopes up haha)
But Barca bought him for £60m, he's had a pretty poor season for them, so maybe they'd sell him on for around £45m?

What i mean is we don't really need that type of player considering we have Fabregas and he is most likely to be on the bench when Kante and Bakayoko are fit.

Gary Cahill is a good defender, Luiz is every bit as good at that plus he can play the ball. Cahill is awful with the ball and it even looks awkward. If we had players who can all play the ball we'd be much stronger.

Let's sign Van Diyk

Nah, we've got too many Defenders already: Cahill, Luiz, Azpi and Rudiger, plus I'm hoping we keep Christensen (He's homegrown)
There's a reason we loaned Zouma.

Rather we looked at Martail at Utd if they consider letting him go.

Martial will be a dream signing for me if we can't get Sanchez. I think he has the potential to be a top player if he play for a manager that believe in him.

We already have a backup striker to Morata though in batman.  Llorente should either be third choice/emergency striker or we are looking to get more versatile in our formations and we may see 2 up front more than we think.

I think two up front could even become our main option, but that doesn't mean that Batshuayi has to start next to Morata. I picture sth like

--------------------------------Hazard-----Morata---------------------

Alsonso(Bertrand)-Bakayoko-Fabregas-Kante-Moses(Cedric)

-----------------------Rüdiger-------Luiz--------Azpi------------------

-------------------------------------Courtois--------------------------------

I like Llorente, but I doubt he would get much game time and think that there is bigger need elsewhere. I think Bertrand and Cedric would be the ideal WB additions, even though I doubt we could get both of them. Renato Sanches might be a smart buy if Matic leaves, with a MF of three he'd certainly get his minutes. And lastly, a more versatile attacking player like thks Richarlison guy might be a good addition, provided he is good.

Have to say that sadly Cahill didn't look solid at the lift side of a back 3 again yesterday...his place is the most up for grabs and if Christensen or Rudiger show well there then Cahill may see some serious bench time this season...

I think Cahill did reasonably well yesterday and deserves his spot in the starting 11 at the start of the season. If his performances drop or he starts making errors similar to the ones he made at the start of last season than drop him or alternatively if Christensen or Rudiger perform well in cup competitions and deserve a place on merit than by all means but otherwise the back 3 shouldn't be altered.

He's fine at the throwing himself in front of the ball thing but he can't pass out from the back and every time he's isolated on the left he panics...looking forward to seeing Rudiger playing there...

How can anyone judge his Bayern days when he hasn't played, he is young missed preseason, off to a bad start and couldn't recover his confidence, he has the talent, under conte I think he could become world class.

Clearly he has played sufficiently often for people to feel entitled to an opinion. What's more, understanding that clubs like to offer cover stories, I'd call them excuses, along the lines of the list you gave, people are probably also  prepared to draw inferences from the very fact that he has not played.

I have not seen anything I regard as good evidence to support your world class potential claim, but, if Antonio did share your view, where would you see Sanches contributing for us; as an option to partner one of our French CM's, or joining them as the most forward looking member of a three?

Well he only played 4 league games and he is only 19, so to draw a conclusion I think would be very short sighted,  as for what supports him having world class potential I think is clear, he won a European title as a full first 11 player at 18 years old and won young player of the tournament in doing so, to add to that he was bought by one of the biggest clubs on the planet at a very young age with the mind of playing first team football, so I that would suggest without doubt they felt he had world class potential, can you lose all that in one season? I don't know but what's clear is there is more than enough evidence to suggest he has world class potential. If I remember I think we had this discussion before, I think it's one of the first things we spoke about when you joined.

I think we should try to lure Emre Can. The guy has just 1 year left and juventus is trying to get him.

That would provide strong competition for Kante. He is one of the best DM I have seen in recent times.

I understand the reservations some people may have regarding Cahill but the bottom line is he was part of a championship winning back 3 therefore deserves a starting place until his performances suggest otherwise.

My Prediction for the end of the window:
Underlined = Homegrown
Bold = Predicated/Uncertain
Brackets = New Signing

GK: Thibaut, (Willy), Eduardo
LWB: Alonso, Kenedy
CB: Luiz, Cahill, Azpi, (Rudiger), Christensen
RWB: Moses, (New Wingback)
CM: Kante, Fabregas, (Bakayoko), Baker, (New Midfielder)
Wingers: Hazard, Pedro, Willian, Boga, Musonda
Strikers: (Morata), Batshuayi, Remy

Out: Ake, Traore, Atsu, Begovic, Terry, Chalobah, Cuadrado, Costa, Matic, Baba

If this is a reality then only one of our two possible new signings need to be homegrown.

Right now, it doesn't really seem to me like were running into a HG problem. Our current core squad excl HG or U21 players is Thibaut, Willy, Eduardo, Luiz, Rüdiger, Azpi, Alonso, Kanté, Bakayoko, Eden, Pedro, Willian, Morata, Batshuayi which is 14 players (plus Moses, Christensen, Cahill, Fábregas, Baker, Kenedy, Musonda etc who are HG or U21). That means we can sign 3 more non-HG players (eg 1CM, 2 WB), and only if we wanted to sign more than another 3 (which sounds quite ambitious to me) we'd need to look for HG/U21 players (Chamberlain, Bertrand, Richarlison), and if not, we can consider non-HG from our squad like Remy, Pasalic or Baba. So right now, I don't think we should make this difficult transfer market even more difficult by exaggeratedly concentrating on the HG status of players.
