I'd rather we spent it on Sanches, Sandro and Toljan/Hysaj. Ox is ok-ish because he covers for at least 3 positions but Barkley is a 2nd rate No. 10 and he hasn't really develop all that much from when he first broke into the 1st team

Barkley is such an odd one, really hard to decide on this. He obviously is an incredibly talented player, one who could go on to be as good as he wants to be, but you`ve got to think his attitude and lack of consistency is what holds him back. So on the one hand, he`s not worth £40m-£50m as he is, but there`s a very good chance he will be worth more and be an outstanding player for us if Conte can get it out of him. So summing up I wont be too unhappy if we do or don`t sign him. Sorry to have wasted your time ha ha.

The trouble with Barkley is I don't see how he fits into our formation, unless he will be converted into a centre midfielder, which makes signing him even more of a gamble. At least with ox, you know he can play at wing back, or as one of the wingers/attacking midfielders, or even at a push in centre midfield.

Barkley has bags of ability, and I do think it would be good to increase the English contingent, im just doubtful he is a good fit.

If we can pick them both up for under £40m, then I guess it might be worth the gamble.

Only problem I have with a Barkley signing, is that pretty much would spell the end for the likes of RLC and Baker, etc... as even if they did well on loan, we have a large track record of ignoring that and going on the player's transfer fee instead, and I still think we need to give them 1 more try, before writing them off.

If we somehow manage to sign the Ox and Sanches from Bayern on loan, I'd say we turned into a underwhelming transfer window into a good one. Ideally, another left back option, think the Sandro deal is long dead, and we aren't recalling Baba.

I read somewhere that Baba will compelete his rehab till October. So hard to say if he would be included or not.

Realistically he won't be first team match fit until December so won't be included in the squad

Barkley and Ox would be more like £20m to £25m respectively, with only one year left on their contracts, surplus to requirements and Everton forcing Barkley out of the door, if both are signed for a collective £80m, I'd be flabergasted.

Same with Llorente one year left on his contract, they have Tammy, Ayew and McBurnie (highly rated within the club), have been linked with a Bony return and another striker that escapes me. I would be surprised if it took over £12m, they also seem to be looking for a replacement so I wouldn't be surprised if this were to happen before the end of the window sigh.

I laughed at the 100mil figure being branded about for Lukaku. Everton were able to sell him for that.

Hard to say about everton. As for OX, 20-25 seems fair but that was the figure being branded about.

I would have expected a figure of 10-15 for Llorente too. 30mil is basically the asking price.

If we can get OX for 25mil and Llorente for 10mil (32 year, less than one year). I would be happy. And just stay away from barkley.

I find it laughable and slightly annoying how we are even being considered with Barkley.

If he had come through our own academy, he would have been sent out on loan countless times, not had anything like the PL experience he has got and we would probably be showing him the door by now. It's only because he's at a Club like Everton, that he's got game-time and even then he did go out on loan first and has since struggled to hold down a regular first 11 place.

He's no better than a lot of what we have had come through our academy but have deemed not to be good enough. Let another mug club take a punt on him and watch him turn in a handful of decent performances over the next 2-3 seasons before he ends up at somewhere like Birmingham.

Thing is with Barkley he is high risk but he could be outstanding, he could turn into a devastating player or into an expensive dud, I personally wouldn't take the chance at that price, he doesn't fit our system but I'm sure you could deploy him as a RF, but I wouldn't be heartbroken if we bought him because I'm always intrested in potential.

Like mentioned above sanches and a left back for me would be a top top window.

He has had plenty of time to improve his game and become more consistent under Koeman. I would steer well clear, but wtf do i know !

180mil-ish.

Barkley (40mil), Ox (40mil), Llorente (30mil) and Sandro (70mil).

Crazy insane rates.

Barkley is on last year of his contract and he wants out, so I'd say we can get him for cheap. £20-25m, as soon as he hears the champions are in for him he'll force a move.

No way is Chamberlain going for 40m. 30m tops imo and we never will pay any more than that for a squad player.

Llorente isn't going for 30m whatever Swansea says, he's not far from retiring and we know better than splashing that much on him. If we are going to get him then it'll be some astute business on our part, 15m.

Sandro, probably will be 70m.

Barkley is being severely underrated on here. You can't always only go on what you have seen him produce. Sometimes you can clearly see there is more in a player waiting to be brought out.

I think he has all the attributes to develop into a Dembele type player (Spurs Dembele). In fact I wouldn't be surprised if that's why Pochettino wants him.

With the right coach he is a potential star, and today £30m for that isn't a lot, especially given he's English.

If the persistent links are genuine, then his doubters have to ask themselves why do two of the best coaches in the country want him.

I thought that was because Conte and Poch value players that can work hard and sacrifice for the team?

Barkley seems to fit that sort of profile

With an academy like CFC has, the people coming in purely to add to depth should be CFC youth.  The transfer market should be for when we need a key role filled that the academy can't deliver.  Isn't that how Barca/Real/Bayern etal operate?

In this regard i think we are a victim both of the time and of our own success.

It has become fashionable, and I can't say I disagree with the fashion, to believe that player development is best served by playing on loan rather than filling out a club squad.

The success of our academy teams means that our youngsters have a high profile. They get talked about, by name, in all forms of the media, including the social variety of course. As soon as they hit eighteen they find themselves swamped by stories of how Chelsea is them back. They get itchy. If they don't get a loan, they think they are being left behind. The only players who will accept squad roles are those who don't believe they are good enough to play anywhere else and that won't work for Chelsea of course.

When was the last time we had a scouser play for us?

Gerrard played twice for us. His chelsea career began at Wembley in 2005 when he grabbed his 1st goal for us, then the highlight came in 2014 when he pulled off an audacious dummy to put demba ba through on goal for an assist at anfield.
