Last season fabregas move was complete on June 12 and costa sorted before that. Hazard moved on June 4 2012.

Rumours as it stand are: Felipe Luis back to Atletico, Falcao to Chelsea on loan, Asimir Begovic to Chelsea. These are the ones to me that hold most water at the moment. Pogba is a dream of sorts as is Varane.

Begovic is possibly the best back up keeper we could hope for. Not quite the keeper Big Pete is but I'm not exactly worried.

I'm not worried either, just pointing out I don't think we will have strengthened with those signings and who has left.

Early days but I can't see us doing anything major for some reason.

We're only weaker if Courtois gets injured. From now on he should be playing pretty much every game with Cech leaving. 

 

Luis was always on the fringes too and so if any reserve left back comes in we're pretty where we was anyway. 

 

I love Drogba but Falcao is definitely an upgrade in that department.

I don't think Falcao is much of an upgrade at all tbh. He's younger yes but he's not quick, he's not strong and he isn't scoring many goals.

Drogba did better in his lesser appearances last season than Falcao did IMO. The fact Falcao's performances are not improving at all and his scoring is sporadic tells me he's not going to be handy player for us.

The Keeper situation is the best we could have hoped for really, Begovic is a quality replacement albeit no where near Cech's level.

Luis is a quality left back IMO, he didn't get much of a chance so I guess it's right he moves on but again I doubt we will get someone in of his level so to me that will weaken us a little.

I just don't see the transfers so far making us a stronger team although it's very early so there is time to improve.

I can't honestly see a club with our ambition just getting a backup keeper and a 3rd choice striker (who could be next to useless)

I understand the frustration by people that we aren't obviously chasing a big name signing but:

A) this shows the good work we've done in previous windows

B) the club and José's intention to bring some youth through

C) we've always been a club that likes to negotiate behind the scenes so news is always scarce.

On the one hand, you guys had by far the best team in the league last season, so you "need" to upgrade the least out of the top teams, just mere tweaks and young players. However, you lot need to be careful not to fall into the Man City trap of winning the league, buying sh*te players then barely challenging if at all the next season.

 

At the moment no one has really added to themselves yet to worry you, but with Arsenal finally getting their act together by getting a decent keeper and us hopefully getting some new players (Depay and hopefully Ramos and Schneiderlin), plus an extra year of getting to know Louis' tactics, there will be some threat. At the minute though, there really isn't much of a need to panic as some of you are on here. We have more of a right to be worried, considering we haven't been linked with any right backs and Valencia is looking to be our first choice there next season...

Basically it's doing the rounds on Twitter because one of those "in the know" type accounts basically said it. 

 

Most likely it is completely made up but then that's true of 99% of rumours anyway, just because it's printed in a newspaper doesn't give it credibility. 

 

It's one of those rumours you want to be true but deep down probably know it's all bullsh*t.
