Cuadrado given the 11 jersey does seem a bit of a big move for him.  However, I will say that if we got back what we paid for him, then I wouldn't oppose the move; so long as we had a replacement already lined up

I just wonder if he's going to perform this season? Maybe he needed that acclimatisation period. The 11 shirt is hallowed now after being vacated by Drogba for a second time, shame someone else couldn't have assumed it.

yep.  Again, I try not to read too much into shirt numbers, but giving the number 11 to Juan could be a significant gesture by Jose as a show of faith?

 

Or, he could just be using it to say to others "who wants to come and be our number 11?"

Yeah you're right but quality is quality and Chicharito scores goals everywhere he goes. Imagine Fabregas threading balls through to him, he is lightning.  Not bad with his head either.  Wishful thinking I guess. Dzeko might have been good for that target man position you are talking about.

That's a lot of money for koke. He is hardly going to contribute to our attack much at all, so it's a high investment in all honesty. I am sure there are more suitable options out there if we look hard enough.

The wording on the BBC website is also interesting.

It mentions about Gotze being unsettled and wants to move to the premier league.

The next quote is from Jose - stating that he cannot possibly look at players from Bayern, Barcelona and Real Madrid unless they actively want to leave.

Either lazy journalism or a hint that we might be interested. Most likely the former from the BBC.
