( sorry we haven't got any!) All these old pics of our fantastic away support, at 'smaller clubs' than us (!), makes me go moist. Put it down to my age, and my prostate possibly playing up!.
November 7, 20169 yr Author I love the way the old east stand & entrance looks, gutted i never got to use or see the stand.
November 8, 20169 yr Couldn't think of anywhere else to post this. Not sure if it counts as vintage but 20 years ago today (8 November 1996) Zola signed for the club. What a player. My favourite Zola moment? When he turned Julian Dicks inside out. http://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2016/11/zolas-chelsea-scrapbook.html

Genius in a Chelsea shirt.
November 10, 20169 yr He was not only a genius on the pitch, but as well a personality as a man. Hardly ever used a foul to stop his opponent, never ever showed an impertinant behavior on and off the pitch, always with 100% willing to fight and win, always in perfect shape, doing endless exercises after the trainig session even in his mid thirties, having a laugh with everyone, always putting in a good word for other teamplayers and and and. He´ll be in my heart as long as I live - just love this little man, who gave us so much and was one of us.

The man is a gentleman, when my son was younger he was in & out of hospital having major heart surgery. Zola did a signing session at the megastore, i took my son along, when we met Gianfranco, he could see my son had health issues because of his scar on his chest, Zola asked his name & made a fuss of him. A year or so later Zola did another signing session, again we went along, Zola on seeing my son said "hello i remember you, i was just about to tell him my son's name when Zola said " no no i remember its....." my son was so made up that not only was he meeting his idol Zola actually remembered him & his name, i'm not afraid to admit it but it bought a tear to my eye hearing my son say "dad dad Zola knows my name" we still cherish the photo's we took. Zola, the English game's best ever foreign import.
November 10, 20169 yr CB:What a great story about Zola and your son. Zola has just gone up in my estimation and I never thought that was possible.
November 10, 20169 yr Author Cheers Lads. There's only been two times i've got emotionial about Chelsea which involved my son, the 1st time with Zola as posted above the 2nd time was when i rung my son to tell him we'd just won the PL, the phone was engaged, just after i stopped the call my phone rang, it was my son saying "we've done it dad we've done it" i could barely answer & was a blubbering wreck outside the boozer i was in haha

One of these scenes was of a football fan celebrating and then turning to the camera and saying "dad should have been here to see this" and it had me in bits every single time as my dad died before we won the league (though he had seen it in 1955 before I was born). Even typing this, my eyes are filling up. I would have loved to have shared winning the league with him. Edited November 10, 20169 yr by Beerqueen
