We are not the only club to sell young talented players because of having a better first team; simply put a manager would have his preferences and KdB was unlucky that he reached this level after we had already had three players that are simply better than him currently.

Best of luck to him he is a young player and if a manager shows faith in him I'm sure he can be an integral player at a club who plays in the CL every season. He had few opportunities here but you can't expect a player to make an impact every opportunity there are some players that need to be involved more often to actually find form.

Good luck, KDB! I hope he develops well - however, not that we do the same as with Matic and pay a lot of money to get him back in three years.

I hope we have a buyback clause in the deal, wont feel so disappointed then.

Judging by the way thorgan hazard, lucas piazon and bertrand traore are improving, we wont be needing another AM in the next 12 years

Matic did.

I knew someone would say that. Matic was a youth player, not a full international player with a great season in a tough german league behind him.

Will they be as good as KDB though? Lets wait and see. Most of our young players we sell now i want a buyback clause just to make sure, even the ones who didnt do great out on loan like Jeffrey Bruma.

Why would he come back after not being given a chance this time?

Your right he may not want to come back but in a few years who knows? I didnt think in 2 and half years we would have bought Matic back for £20M even though i did rate him.

Ive heard from people who watch jupiler regularly that thorgan will be better than eden. Hes apparently been comfortably the best player in the league

I have watched Thorgan play quite a few times, and boy, the lad is a true baller. He stand head and shoulder above all other AM in Jupiler.

Also like the fact he is always wearing a smile and quite cool-headed too like his brother.

Thorgan will be 21 in March. At that age Eden was tearing up Ligue 1 so it would be nice to see his little brother in a more competitive league before proclaiming him class and having more potential. It may be true but he also may be nothing more than a big fish in a little pond.

...would like to see him in the BPL next season, CFC probably too early, though his progression over the last 6 months is spectacular (pace, shots, passes,..)

watching him play, he looks like a younger version of Eden-Oscar, let's see how he develops... (in a better league)

Kevin de Bruyne ended his career at Chelsea yesterday with a parting shot at Jose Mourinho claiming that he “lost his joy” playing for the club.

The 22-year-old Belgium international agreed a deal with German club Wolfsburg for an undisclosed fee, thought to be as high as £21?million once all the add-ons and bonuses are included.

The fee means that Chelsea have made a significant profit on De Bruyne who they signed from Genk for around £7?million two years ago but who spent last season on loan to Werder Bremen. The transfer fee would also match the £21? million Chelsea paid for Nemanja Matic in a deal revealed last week by Telegraph Sport.

In the Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws, De Bruyne said: “I didn’t leave Chelsea because I have to go to the World Cup but just because I lost my joy.”

The midfielder revealed that the tipping point for his Chelsea career came before a Champions League match away to Steaua Bucharest when Mourinho criticised the way he was training in a press conference. Mourinho then walked out of the room and De Bruyne said he had been unhappy with his comments.

“It’s a pity he told a press conference that I wasn’t doing well on the training pitch,” he said. “That’s not me. I’m always a player who gives the full 100 per cent in training. Those remarks created a wrong image. At the end of December I had a chat with Mourinho. He told me things about competition, training hard and there’s always a chance that you will play. And he told me he wasn’t keen to let me go on loan, saying: 'You’re a good player’. But what could I do more?”

De Bruyne made just five appearances for Chelsea this season and said: “After the press conference in Bucharest I started training harder, even on my days off. I lost three kilos and two per cent fat - although we could get everything at the club: Coke, chocolate. My situation has never changed. That’s why I asked him: 'Please let me go.’

“In the summer he [Mourinho] convinced me to stay, although there was a nice bid from Dortmund on the table. I also talked to Atletico Madrid. It was a good option.”

Meanwhile, Mourinho has stated that Chelsea will not sell or loan Juan Mata during the January transfer window. He replied with an emphatic “no” when asked whether he would allow the 25-year-old to leave this month. Mata is also frustrated after falling out of favour and is fearful of not being selected for Spain’s World Cup squad.

In the same interview, KdB said:

‘I got along with Mourinho quite well,’ De Bruyne told Het Laatste Nieuws.

‘Tactically he’s a very strong coach.

I can't think why, but the Telegraph, Mail and Mirror couldn't bring themselves to print that bit.

Well it doesn't really matter whose fault it was really. It just didn't fit. I think he has a good future ahead of him and I wish him luck.

Jose can be black and white and if someone doesn't work out the team is the last thing that hurts which is the only way to go in the sport IMO.

I've been meaning to come on and comment on this since it happened.

The boy never got a look in and there's still people slating his performances from 20 minute cameos here and there is ridiculous.

Te same people who think Andre 'Couldn't hit a barn door' Schurlle is a world class footballer.

This is was a poor decision and when KdB becomes a world class attacking midfielder I'll wet myself at the same people saying we should resign him ha.

Agree with this 100%. He was never given a fair chance and in my opinion is better than Schurrle
